are there any games like disco elysium with similar otherworldly and mysterious world building? That game is so fucking good once you really get into the deep lore. Shame that nothing will ever get further explained because the dev is dead and the only lore book is in fucking estonian. Also disco elysium thread I guess

>>733639515Nice "argument" bro. Are you one of those brainlets who can't read and actually unironically though that the game is about politics or something?
>>733640378moreso it was made by and attracts people who sniff their own farts
>>733639381It's not that mysterious really, but i do understand the feeling. The obscurity of that world comes in part from the fact that we don't see much of it in the game. So it's difficult to find something similar, as other settings would expand upon their world and lore, removing some of the mystery. Not that i mind, but you won't get the same feeling.
>>733639381>the only lore book is in fucking estonianYou mean the novel? Sacred and Terrible Air has had at least three full English translations available, for free, for several years.

If you could pale-fry your brain, would you?
>>733642053Do you mean Pale overexposure like what has actually happened to Paledriver and Joyce, where you gradually lose your self and your memories to the self and memories of people who lived in the past?Or do you mean the meme-theory overexposure idiots think happened to Harry, who is just an alcoholic with an unhealthy fixation who has tried to kill his brain with binging?

>>733642195I was thinking about the Paledriver specifically. Living in the many memories of the past. She seemed at peace, but I wonder if she can filter some memories, or if she is forced to relive various painful and sad memories as well.
>>733639515You don't need to sign your posts here.>>733640663>t. retard who got absolutely fucking filtered
>>733640668Idk, interactable and explorable pale could make the game even better
>>733639381whats otherworldly and mysterious about it? they explain to you basically everything and its set in estoniaplanescape torment is the only game similar to it>>733640049game is explicitly political lol
>>733642842sunless sea is actually mysterious unlike OPs delusions.
>>733640668dark souls 1
>>733642842Saying that this game is political is like saying that deus ex and morrowind are political. Setting is literally about pulling crazy ideas from the future before their time has come and how it affects in-game society and breaks down the nature of reality itself, but no "IT'S le COMMIE GAME HURR DURR because I le said so!"
>>733642842>whats otherworldly and mysterious about itThe entire planet slowly dissolving into nothingness, for one. How the human race persists through the disslution of reality itself between countries. How exposure to the erasure of space and time changes people.
The Sunless games might do something for you. Maybe the Dishonored games too.
>>733639381Dread Delusion maybe? If your eyes can stand it
>>733643025>Saying that this game is political isSpot on. It doesn't need to be "about" politics to be political. Harry's politics might be a nonsensical patchwork of shit to help him cope with his ex leaving but other characters have serious, defined political stances and beliefs. Some of them are on the cultural and economic elite, some of them are the literal dregs, but many of them have opinions on the Revolution that has defined the last 50 years and the state of the city and the world since.
