>>733640215Dude, This is a fan model from way back.I ported this shit when i was still in primary school.
>>733641937https://www.artstation.com/artwork/RYRdmX>For the last two years i have been working on the environments on HL:Alyx. Before that i remade the metrocop and combine soldier for an early prototype, luckly one of them made it into the game.
the morphine is losing its effect bros...
>>733640215any decade now
>>733640215half-life 3 will come out as a buggy, unpolished unplayable mess and YET people will still suck Gaben's fat cock because they've been conditioned to consume the product and get exited for the next producthalf-life 3? more like half-lie 3
>>733642608Alyx was not a buggy, unpolished unplayable mess
>>733642608They spent the last year optimizing the game.
What are the chances Alyx will get some kind of standalone, non-VR release? I'm not buying VR garbage just to play one game.
Valve screwed over the Artifact fanbase by cancelling the Artifact 2.0 beta without even allowing users to invite friends like they said they would in January 2021 and does not deserve your financial support for these gross consumer-unfriendly practices.
>>733644963Get mad VRlet. You'll never be a real gamer.
>>733644963Never
>>733644963Ii think everyone's pretty much given up on VR. I dont care if it was a gimmick or not, inflation and generally fuckedupness in the world and tech in particular completely tanked any chance of it catching on years ago.If volvo likes their tech gimmicks so much, they should take advantage of the fact everyone has a 2015 rig (that costs more now than it did when it was new) and couldn't afford to upgrade if they sold their kidneys, and make the most aggressively optimized game ever. Make HL3 run on the same hardware that ran HL2 while looking current gen. If anyone can do it, it's valve.
>>733644963There is a mod to play it normally without VR retard. It works completely fine and it's how I played the game.
I hate that we know valve have something near ready to go, but everyone is just waiting for an actual release.
>>733644963No reason to, VR isn't that bad to invest in. I fucking hate how it forces you to use earbuds since headphones fuck with the strap too much
>>733644963pirate the game then mod the vr out
>>733647254Even without pirating the game often goes on sale for pennies
>>733640215
>>733645247People care about Artifact?
>>733640215I have faith it will come out in the next few years, but pretending it'll be any day now is retarded.
>>733647371An eternities repose! It brings peaceful thoughts, does it not?
Since we're all waiting for new content, why not talk about mods?Any of you anons play the HL1 Vertigo mod?
Soon...
>>733647765I played diffusion on release and it was phenomenal. I'm also playing through raising the bar redux and it's pretty alright so far. The antlion king nihilanth fight knockoff was jank as shit but i liked itAlso, not a mod but i check the gmod workshop weekly and i found a cool map called Osen 4ever. It's got a bunch of mid-2000's stuff in it but in the "actually was there" way and not the usual tranny "wooooo so liminal! remember emos? Rawr xd" kinda way
>>733642608Possibly. Black Mesa is a complete mess of a game and normalfags love that shit.
>>733649206Yeah, I've lost track of the number of times I've pointed out BM is inferior on youtube comments only to get rushed by kids and retards about how "objectively wrong" I am. These spastics think shinier graphics = better game. There's no helping them, and its why demakes are so popular.
>>733649089>DiffusionI've been holding off on it because it s eems to add too many COD or RPG like elements for my taste. Am I wrong?
>>733649457Black Mesa is a good game. but it absolutely plays worse than HL1 and has real visual clutter problem.
>>733649549It's got lots of technical problems too
>>733649549Yeah, I'd argue BM LOOKS better than HL1, and it plays well enough, but it misses the mark for the most part.
>>733649504Nah. Despite the shiny graphics, it's still an HL mod inside. Same enemies, same weapons etc.
>>733649898I think visually its a matter of taste. Black Mesa has a much more cinematic high detail style. While Half Life goes for a more grounded visual style and tone with more cartoony characters and weapons. You'll notice that HL2 doesn't do film grain, lens flare, or chromatic aberration despite having all the same graphical technologies as Black Mesa.
>>733649585I guess it does run poorly
>>733649549The visual clutter thing is real. On surface tension especially I got fucking lost all the time. Doesn't help that source's antialiasing sucks and the textures are too high res so everything looks grainy as shit
>>733649549>visual clutter problemI remember a part in Interloper where I'm like 90% certain I didn't actually find the intended route and just managed to progress by sliding across some slopped walls.
>>733650956For me it was pressing E on every bright red blikenlight and big red valve because in every Valve game that means intended route of progression, except nothing happened because those were just decoration.
