New Star Fox game co-developed by Koei Tecmo
>Lylat Warriors
>>733641859>Lylat WarriorsWould be sick.
zazed o algo
>>733641824Age of Imprisonment is so fucking good.
Sure, they can't possibly outshit Zero.
>>733641859i'd shit
>>733641859Doubt they’d make a spinoff like this before they can a mainline game out, although I heard a Star Fox Warriors game was pitched at some point.
>>733643589>Star Fox Zero was 10 years ago>The only thing Nintendo has done with the IP since has been officially releasing a SNES ROM (and keep the characters in Smash Bros OFC)>The only good thing done with the IP in 20 years has been a goddamn Youtube fanfic (and Krystal lewds i guess)Why does Nintendo hate moneyKrystal has consistently been in the top 5 of porn/searches since her debut. I can't think of anyone, fictional or real, to have such frequent and consistent draining. Astonishing, really.Just make a game with Krystal and it's already made its money back. Can also focus on making it an actually good game.
>>733643582I enjoyed it a lot more than I expected to. Hyrule Warriors has been a consistently good sub-series, but the games are all as different from each other as the mainline Zelda games are.
>>733641824Tea time date with Falco!
>>733641824I see the vision if they did it like the final battle of AoI where you shift between land and sky and back again mid-mission.
>>733644356>although I heard a Star Fox Warriors game was pitched at some pointKoei Tecmo pitched a Star Fox Warriors but got shot down by Nintendo. They ended up doing Fire Emblem Warriors instead, which nobody talks about anymore anyway.
>>733641824Fox tops Wolf
>>733644540because its the worst nintendo warriors title, three hopes mogs it hard (three hopes is also better than three houses)
Apologize.
>>733641859>Lylat WarriorsYou son of a bitch. I'm in.
Doesn't Ace Combat 8 release this year? Nobody gives a fuck about Nintendo IPs anymore since they've spent the better part of the 21st century not investing into hiring people who know or care about, you know, designing fucking video games.
>>733644775>Best Story>Best Dialogue>Best Soundtrack>Best Wolf>Worst Fox
>>733644843Holy shit. You're so fucking cool
>>733644932I know, thanks for noticing
>>733643582I finished it recently and i enjoyed it way more than I thought. Particularly the cast was more interesting than I gave them credit for. I'm starting to prefer the sages over the champions and they easily beat the new generation.>>733641859Would they fight an army of robots? I find it hard to believe Nintendo would allow you to genocide a crowd of sapient pigs in a E rated game. Even if they're the bad guys.>>733643589>>733644397They just to move from 64. You'd think Fox's story would be simple but understanding the canon is a task I'd burden.
>>73364358964 REMAKE AGAIN! WOOOOOOOO
>>733645258>Would they fight an army of robots? I find it hard to believe Nintendo would allow you to genocide a crowd of sapient pigs in a E rated game. Even if they're the bad guys. You genocide other humans in the Fire Emblem Warriors games.
>>733645321Fire Emblem is a T rated game based in a war that takes itself fairly seriously. Star Fox has that Saturday morning cartoon feel that would make open firing into a crowd of lizards with families seem off.
>>733644540Rumor that was never verified by the way
>>733644775Gameplay is fucking cancer. The first stage was the only semi good part of it
>>733645507But a Warriors spinoff could still be T rated, I don't see why it would need to be E.
>>733641859so 6 playable characters + one og do not steal?
Krystal Ball
Have not reposted this in a while, but IMO, a Star Fox game in the Warriors format would be amazing for Star Fox. And as a mainline entry, not a spin-off.Instead of hack-n-slash with 100s of enemies, think of massive scale fleet battles.Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity had an excellent format between missions that's fit Star Fox.>Your goal in AoC is to contribute to the fight against the Calamity.>You accomplish this by completing missions and side-quests in different regions of the map.>Completing missions and killing enemies nets you resources to spend on upgrades.>Unlock more characters as you play through the game, each with unique playstyles. Now translate this into Star Fox.>Contribute to the war effort against Andross's Army.>Accomplish this by completing missions and side-quests on different planets and areas of the map.>Completing missions and killing enemies nets you resources to spend on upgrades.>Unlock more characters as you play through the game, each with their own ships, skill trees, and abilities. So in execution, it's play like this:>Main missions all classic Arwing missions, both on-rails and all-range>Beat the main mission, unlock some side missions for that Area>Side missions have more variety (Landmaster, on-foot, wing riding, etc.)>Both main and side missions give resources/currency for upgrades>Each Area has an ally (Bill, Katt, etc.) you unlock by 100%-ing their Area>Fully playable in four-player co-op online and splitscreen, plus VS modeSo you'd start off with just Fox, Falco, Peppy, and Slippy.In-game you can unlock Bill, Katt, Fay, Miyu, and Krystal. Maybe even like James or General Pepper as DLC.Then in post-game, you can unlock the Star Wolf cast. Kinda like how in Hyrule Warriors you can unlock villians after. Each pilot would have their own skill trees and special ability. Nothing complex, just something simple like in Starlink.
>>733643582Man I just couldn’t get in to it nearly as much as the other Nintendo-brand Warriors games or even other Warriors ones. I need to give it another shot. I just really want a genuine Hyrule Warriors 2
>>733645693Fair. I admit, I'm not too familiar with the Star Fox universe my first one was Zero RIP so I can't quite pinpoint the tone the series does/should have.
>>733646238I would main the shit out of General Pepper if his kit brings back the transforming gundam he got in Assault.
they need to do mega man warriors
>>733641824They're making it in TotK?
>>733646408It does get "teen anime" dramatic at times, for instance there's a part in Assault where Peppy and R.O.B. have to ram the Great Fox into the villains' base to let Fox and the others escape and they're considered dead until it's revealed in the ending they survived, but Peppy is injured and has to retire from piloting while the Great Fox did get blown up and has to be entirely replaced with a different ship in Command. That game was T-rated.
>>733646238I don't know why but this format for me screams a creator character. Having an OC wipe out hordes alongside Fox and crew sounds really cool.
>>733646636Nah character creator would be one thing I think Star Fox should avoid at all costs.
>>733646810What's wrong with being able to create your anthropomorphic chara- oh...
>>733646810yeah would introduce too much sonic style autism
>>733646810>you print money>but you unleash the full furry fandom autism into your game
>>733643582Okay, question for you. I have seen AoI gameplay, specifically for the on-rails flight levels like in the OP.The way the ship *appears* to control is very digital, for lack of better term. Is that accurate? How do the controls feel?Like have you played the original Star Fox 64? When you control the Arwing, it feels more aerodynamic than digital.Maybe part of it comes from the reticle. Like in the clips I have seen of AoI, the ship and reticle move in unison.Whereas in Star Fox 64, the Arwing *follows* the reticle. Pic rel is the best GIF I could quickly find that shows what I mean. This would be my biggest concern with Koei Tecmo taking the reigns, or really any developer. They need to nail the controls.
>>733644397This. Krystal os the money fox. Spin her off. No space, jungle shit
>>733644397>make a game with KrystalI remember developers being asked about Krystal a lot during Star Fox Zero's promotion cycle. Given her popularity, I would be genuinely surprised if Krystal did NOT make an appearance in the next Star Fox game. Even if it is a direct sequel to Zero, I feel like they would find a way to include her in it.If not, then at LEAST bring Miyu and Fay into a modern release.
Real talk, you lot think we have a chance of seeing a new Star Fox game in the next year or so?
>>733648090>new SF game>take advantage of the joy-con mouse controls>new pilot is a mouse
>>733645518Yes, I too saw Google AI make that same cope.
>>733648336Sensible chuckle
>>733647318The animated short that accompanied Zero explicitly mentioned the team knows about Sauria, which was kind of a weird continuity thing to even bring up but it confirmed that they still wanted to include Adventures canon into Zero’s timeline.
>>733648450You'd be cheesed as I would. Admit it.
>>733649072Indeed.
>>733648336Honestly the JoyCon mouse controls are one of the biggest boons in Star Fox's favor. I just hope they do not make it into a mandatory control scheme like Zero did with the Gamepad.
>>733649491Zero looked awful, damn.
>>733641824JUSTMAKE A FUCKING (SP)ACE COMBAT WITH FURRIESWhat was the last flight game Nintendo had? They have a niche they refuse to fill, and a franchise that can perfectly fill the nicheDO IT
>>733645507>>733645258Are you one of those dopes who thinks that cartoon animals can't be taken seriously? Star Fox as a whole plays itself straight. You can do a musou game with them just fine, as unconventional as it may seem.
>>733644402How is that possible? All musuo are essentially the same.
>>733641824on rails shooters felt outdated in 1997, I don't even know how irrelavent they must be in 2026
>>733649863Honestly the issue I have is I can't see the Star Fox crew single-handedly mow down armies with the help of their Arwing. And even then, carpet bombing enemies doesn't seem right gameplay-wise. I would rather have a proper flight sim than musuo with a SF skin. Xenoblade, Kirby, and Bowser would be more fitting.
>>733650450>Honestly the issue I have is I can't see the Star Fox crew single-handedly mow down armies with the help of their ArwingThat is literally what they've done since the first game. You're more or less playing a musou, you control Fox and your crew follows along attacking other enemies, sometimes needing help along the way.Well. Star Fox DOES work as a musou, even if you keep the game in the air.
>>733650450>>733650776Honestly I think a third person shooter on-foot combat would work well in a "musou" Warriors-styled game.Just give the bullets large hitboxes, like using arrows in Fire Emblem Warriors. And throw in some melee moves.
>>733650450(me)*even with the help of their Arwingsoops>>733650776I just want a normal SF game.https://youtu.be/lr_vl62JblQ?si=4ALXRrcfH7iPuwBG
We just need to wait for the Mario Galaxy movie to come out so we can see Fox McCloud.
>>733645853You can get around 20 before you have to start worrying about the token Donut Steels>Fox>Falco>Slippy>Peppy>Krystal>Wolf>Leon>Panther>Katt Monroe>Bill Grey>Miyu>Fay>ROB>General Pepper>Amanda Toad>Lucy Hare>Dash Bowman>Beltino & Grippy Toad>James McCloud>Tricky>The Shop Keeper
>>733652628No! Thats too low!
>>733652628Decent number. Though I would trim it down a bit.>ROBI would save ROB for special missions where you pilot the Great Fox itself. Kind of like the Divine Beast missions from Age of Calamity.>Amanda Toad>Lucy Hare>Dash BowmanDepends on when the game takes place. If after Star Fox Command, sure. If a sequel to Star Fox Zero, no.>Beltino & Grippy ToadInteresting in thought, but honestly too minor to be worth it IMO. Especially dependent on when the game takes place, too.>Tricky>The Shop KeeperNo to these two.
>>733644775Bad game shills claim as the best one. Campaign is cringe and multi-player mediocre.
>>733641824what would a flight musou even be like? Like the ACE series I guess?
>>733655250>Patch! Long time no see!
>>733641824Kit & Krysta have spoken about how the social media posts are never cryptic hints for things not announced. They don’t do that, and anything that was a coincidence was just that (like making a summer Mario tweet before the 3D collection was announced)
>>733644843Bandai Namco literally sold a studio that helped make ace combat 7 to Nintendo. Bandai Namco has been on the decline for a while now regardless if Ace Combat.
>>733655672I'm surprised you let some dude live rent free in your head for all these years. Assault wasn't good and triggered the series decline for the next decade.
>>733646442Capcom and TC haven't been very friendly to each other since the lawsuit.
>>733644775>>733644923If assault was so good why don't we see any games like it? Why doesn't Bandai Namco make it's own spiritual successor or Nintendo push for a re-release?
>>733656162Who is TC?
Imamura is retired from Nintendo and Miyamoto is too old. There's no one of importance left after Nintendo who honestly gives a shit about star fox.
>>733656063>I'm surprised you let some dude live rent free in your head for all these yearsI just think its funny. I did not make the collage either. Just saw it, laughed, and repost it on rare occasion.>>733656194Genuinely I think Adventures is why. Adventures was so drastically different from SF64 that anything remotely similar had the SF64 purists REEEing.Assault's on-foot combat was good IMO, but of course was not perfect. But the mere idea of going back on foot again led to many not giving Assault a proper chance.I think if Assault was made today with modern controls, it would be MUCH better received, even with its other flaws still intact.
>>733655585Think massive fleet battles with hundreds/thousands of AI ships flying around in large formations.Or if on-foot, just like playing Fire Emblem Warriors as a bow user.
Hear me outgacha star fox
>>733656667Adventures was well received and sold well on GameCube unlike assault. Assault was also advertised to be a back to being lime 64 while being panned for more ground combat and less flying gameplay.Assault even with modern controls would not hold up at all by modern standards. It's core gameplay hasn't aged well and is inferior to all the other notable shooters that existed even in the 2000s. At least 64 holds up as a solid arcade style shooter.
>>733657297Adventures had like a 3Mil sales drop from SF64. It began the downfall. Assault was along the way. Command turned the slope downward into a cliff.Disagree. Modern Assault I think would hold up if the controls were executed well.
>>733644397A Fox In Space sucks and is made by a burnt out pervert with identity issues.
Star Fox 2 >>>>> All the others
>>733657616>Adventures had like a 3Mil sales drop from SF64That largely follows the trend of a lot of GameCube sequels from n64. Adventures sold roughly half the amount as star fox 64 whole assault probably sold half as much as adventures.
>>733657842I love how fay gets one more frame than the others
>>733657616Looking back command actually saved the series. Assault caused a home console hiatus while command was successful enough by Nintendo to have that same game developer, Q games, to make the next title star fox 64 3D which itself did well enough for Nintendo to greenlight a home console title for wii u which would become star fox zero. Without command Assault would have killed the series for sure.
>>733658898This is just illogical.
>>733652086Okay does anyone actually think this is Fox?
>>733656464As risky as it sounds another reboot might be for the best.
>>733659207Disagree. Make a sequel to Star Fox Zero based on Star Fox 2. Reintroduce Miyu, Fay, and Krystal since she is super popular.Starlink and Smash Bros both use Zero's designs as a base for their appearances. Makes the most sense to continue down that path.Star Fox needs consistency.
Star Fox was never good
>>733659207Agreed but a real reboot where everything is redone from scratch, even setting and characters. Let it be a creation from new people than them just iterating off of what people decades prior did.
>>733655828>[CITATION NEEDED]They sold "80%" of them, and this is three years after the internal team was reorganized into "Bandai Namco Aces" to work exclusively on Ace Combat, alongside Project Aces.In other words, they sold Nintendo 80% of whatever was left AFTER, the people they didn't or want or have any specific use for. Not an entire studio lmao.Bamco's sales numbers have been increasing over the last five years. The only notable hiccup is their operation profit primarily due to failed mobile endeavors, which is why they've been backing down and gradually re-establishing their focus instead of sitting on their hands.Let's see Paul Allen's stocks... Surely his investment in the Switch 2 didn't just pad the numbers for a fiscal quarter only to reveal an atrocious lack of supporting software with the primary gimmick being that you can now play 5-10 year old games how they were released, with minimal stuttering/framedrops... right?
>>733657705Sweet. He sounds like one of us!
>>733647019>, specifically for the on-rails flight levels like in the OPMy judgment of the rail shooter segments would be something like this. They control well. And the way that power-ups from TotK are recontextualized for AoI, and then recontextualized again for the rail shooter segments, in ways that are interesting, is kind of cool. Seeing the TotK/AoI enemies and environments implemented in rail shooter segments in interesting ways is kind of interesting too. In spite of all that, I wouldn't exactly judge the rail shooter segments as that great. Not stand-alone at least.I think it's really cool that they exist. I do enjoy them. But judged next to stand-alone, actual rail shooters, and they fall short. But within AoI itself, they provide variety, changes in pace, and it's cool to see elements that are present elsewhere in the game, recontextualized for a different genre of play. But AoI also isn't a rail shooter. It's an action game with some rail shooter segments. If you do like rail shooters, and you do like AoI, I imagine you'd get a kick out of the rail shooter segments. Perhaps even decently so. But if you go into AoI -for- the rail shooter segments, that ought to be terribly disappointing. If that makes sense.
Arcade Rail Shooters are an obsolete genre. They should pick some ideas from Srtarlink and No man's sky, and that's it, you have the BOTW moment for starfox
>>733644923Star Wolf having a chance to be actual mercenaries and rivals instead of wanting to straight-up fucking kill Star Fox because Pigma dies and their team isn't written to be retarded was a genuine breath of fresh air.Panther making Fox seethe was a highlight, too.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWtJplgXe6I
>>733650126HWDE is classic Musou. AoC is centered around unique mechanics for each character. AoI is the best Star Fox game since 64 with some musou thrown in.
>>733641824i thought it was something real
>>733644397>Why does Nintendo hate moneyThey don't, which is why pokemon keeps getting made and botw has 3 sequels. If they really hated money they would keep making star fox and f-zero games.
>>733641824I used to have an almost religious fanaticism with star fox 64, but I recently played both Sin and Punishment games and holy shit its a far better game. That said Star Fox's characters are incredible and deserve better than nintendo gives them
>>733646442>they need to do mega manHaha, wouldn't that be something...
>>733661207I appreciate the in-depth response.
>>733643582AoC didn't do the game any favors.
>>733661498>both Sin and Punishment gamesExplain these games to me. What are they, and how are they better games? What do they provide that Star Fox falls flat on?Please enlighten me. Nerd out.
I FUCKING LIKED STAR FOX ASSAULT I THOUGHT IT WAS GREAT SO THERE.
>>733644397They probably have no fucking idea what to do with the Star Fox franchise since rail shooters are a dead genre.
>>733641824https://youtube.com/watch?v=mv5qzMtLE60
>>733661687There's simply a lot more going on, it's hard to put in words and I'm sure some would say Star Fox is better because Sin and Punishment maybe has too much going on, but I greatly prefer considering I remember Star Fox 64 like the back of my handhttps://youtu.be/RvP3_SzpNpM?si=p1czlDUSvMsLkDK3
>>733661207Wait. I realize I forgot to write the more detailed part of the critique. I guess it's not that necessary to go in-depth like this. I stand by I wrote. It controls well, the segments are cool, but AoI is not a rail shooter. But I was going to say that even though it controls well, I might criticize the actual rail element of the rail shooter segments. Far from always, but more often than maybe should be the case, the camera paths and movements, may not be what you'd expect and some angles can feel kind of awkward. Broadly speaking I am still positive towards the rail shooter segments though. They're kind of rad.
>>733661721B A S E D
>>733661687Sin and Punishment is what if they turned gunstar heroes into an off the rails, pure on rails arcade shooter. Closest comparison is the landmaster levels in star fox 64 but you can jump, melee attack, and reflect projectiles with properly timed sword attacks. Story is really confusing and convoluted but fairly good once you actually know what the fuck is going on.
>>733661485>Why does Nintendo hate moneyNintendo loves money a lot anon. Their love for money is exactly why they aren't doing anything with star fox and so far it has payed off big time. Most star fox games also coincidently exist on platforms that don't perform to expectations.
So Furries will adopt this as their new chariot now they got bored of Sonic?
>>733661721I think it sucks and history so far proves me right
>>733663964Furries historically fail to be a reliable group for game series to rely on. Sonic and pokemon is the exception since there is a lot more autistic factors at play for those specific franchise.
>>733646810Yeah but furry creator was the least of Sonic Forces's problems
>>733664017literally pic rel
We just need a new Star Fox game, period.
>>733641859>>733643484Holy Shit, imagine they announce Lylat Warriors right after the Mario Galaxy movie has Fox Mcloud in it.
>>733667210Been thinking this for a while, but the best way to bring Star Fox back into the spotlight may be through media other than games.>Mario Movie a massive success>Star Fox Arwing thrown in as an Easter Egg>Mario Movie 2 based on Galaxy with lots of space>Fox McCloud makes a cameo appearance>Everybody loves it>Kicks off a new Star Fox movie/episodic series>Star Fox on the big screen becomes a big success>Make new Star Fox game to further push the IP>Star Fox becomes the new over-shilled Fire EmblemA glorious future.
>>733661123Nah he's the kind of pervert even (you) don't want to be associated with.
>>733661721Enjoy another 20 years without a rerelease
>>733668265Nah you can be salty about Assault (no pun intended) all you want, but I do think both it and Adventures will hit the GameCube NSO thing eventually.May or may not coincide with a future Star Fox game release, but I do think it will happen at some point.
Isn't it funny f zero is now mktr prominent than star fox? Not just a new game released with f zero 99 but also an uncancelled game coming out later this year, a title even more obscure than star fox 2 as it never got leaked
>>733668369Im doubtful that will happen unfortunately
>>733667756Delusion
>>733671551To the contrary it makes sense, the foundation is there, Starfox already lends itself to a format where you have to attend to time sensitive situtations in space, the unique gimmick could be Hyrule Warriors in space, maybe the use of ultrahand, and going down to planet's atmosphere, and back to space seamlessly using the power of the Switch 2 hardware. and because of the cameo the game could double as Mushroom Kingdom Warriors
>>733669705I mean it makes no sense not to IMO. The GameCube library isn't enormous. They'll get added eventually.
>>733673570You realize this is Nintendo we're talking about. They often do things that don't make sense to us.
>>733644397Star Fox was always experimental and didn't have anyone that could push it. I still think it has potential though but it would need a fresh start
>>733658727Because she deserves it for being so cute.
>>733644775This game should get decompiled. Would be awesome.
>>733645321>>733645507Star Fox Adventures and Assault were rated T.
>>733644775I always thought it was fun. The multiplayer was basically ghetto Star Wars Battlefront. I never cared for Star Fox 64. Adventures was just okay.
>>733676959>The multiplayer was basically ghetto Star Wars Battlefront. It was nothing like star wars battlefront
