LCK is always either the most dogshit dumpstat or the secret path to god mode

Does CHA affect the number of companions you can have? If so, CHA.

Lck or the game is badly designed by definition
>>
>>733642896
LUK > STR > SPD > DEF > INT > AGI > CHA
>>
>>733642896
why would the Social Democratic Party do this?
>>
>>733642896
STR and SPD both matter.
>>
Luck either leads down a path of critting on every hit thus outdamaging anything any other build can hope to match or it's some niched item farming shit with little to no combat utility

CHA

>I'll win so just give up (Bluff)
>"You... You're right. It was over before it even began, wasn't it? I never stood a chance."
It always works

Irony is that the game that does this the worst does stats in such an obtuse and stupid fucking manner that, if you optimize it, you go with 1 CHA and 10 INT so you can funnel all the extra points you get into the charisma-governed skills.
>>
>>733644030
This but I also hate when devs force themselves to write Cha options when talking should be out of the question / their writing isn't good enough to justify the Cha option.
Like Bethesda most of the time. (Hey president of the enclave, you should kill yourself because you've been very very naughty)

From weakest to strongest

LUK is usually complete garbage, because they don't program it to affect story events, which is where it would shine the most

DEF is the epitome of winning while losing, you may win the fights, but you're losing your time, I don't know why someone would focus on defense primarily

AGI is the less boring version of DEF, if the game has any action element you can expect AGI to require you to learn esoteric and complex systems and manuevers to match what a STR grug does by pressing attack

SPD is a this low only because it depends on implementation, it's usually busted, but not always. If nothing else you can't lose with SPD, because you can just escape most encounters. It's also the epitome of quality of life stats.

STR grug smash, STR grug carry all items, STR grug has biggest armor and shield. it's baseline mode

INT always ends up broken in the endgame and is never balanced out by being weak in the early game, it also often comes with unique routes and quests, a good experience

CHA, due to popular demand devs allow you to talk your way out of most encounters, leading to CHA builds being the pinicle of 'winning without fighitng', winning it the art of war certificate of best stat
but seriously, high cha is the best way to experience a story for the first time, so it's also the best in the quality of life aspect, followed by SPD

Having luck be a major contributor to story progression would be very funny to see but obviously a lot of work to base around one stat
>>
>>733644745
Devs don't seem to have issues programming low INT conversations, if they're going to include LCK they should include LCK dialogue rather than relegating it to crit stat.

If spd does enough poise dmg then you can stun lock anyone

Are there any games where you can be a true wall of defense and never attack directly but still win?
>>
>>733647579
Any game with a thorns aura mechanic, I'd reckon?

FPBP

It's good to be skilled. But no amount of skill can overcome luck.
>>
>>733647816
Yeah I just thought of that after posting, but I'd love to see other more unique examples if they exist that aren't ARPG thorns builds.

DEF is really cool but kinda leads to frustrating games if it's viable

Luck is an extremely cringe reddit gimmick stat that does not bear discussion

AGI and SPD are the same thing so I will be combining them

so taking that out, the stat that wins
In a battlefield situation:
STR > INT > DEF > AGI > CHA
In a non warfare combat situation with prep time:
CHA > INT > STR > DEF > AGI

Int is king but can only take you so far if you're not top of society/strongest soldier on the battlefield. AGI is basically completely useless outside of anime and only rly gives benefits when tied to action economy like fallout. But keep in mind that makes no sense; nobody irl is taking 3 or 4 actions in the time it takes their opponent to do 1.

Noting that while DEF basically always loses, they also always survive the encounter so it is quite useful unlike AGI
>>
>>733642896
It really depends which stat is the most busted, technically all of them have fair shot at winning.
>SPD either only affects your initiative or gives you enough attack speed to outdamage pure strenght builds and movement speed to let you choose your fights because you can either chase wounded enemies or escape when shit hits the fan.
>STR is usually the safe and reliable option around which most games are built around
>DEF can make you completely immune to damage unless the enemy has an attack/skill which bypasses it or it maxes out at about 15% damage reduction
>AGI is DEF but you dodge attacks instead. getting hit usually fucks you up good because you need to trade better armor for dodge chance. Might also give you more critical hit chance and affect initiative depending on the game.
>INT is either only used for skill checks which aren't important or is the magic stat that makes broken spells even more broken
>CHA lets you talk no jutsu everyone and bring a small army of companions which do all the fighting for you or it only lowers item prices
>LUK boosts every stat, lets you oneshot enemies, find better gear and resist status effects or fucking nothing
>>
>>733647579
In SoP you can build around parries but you aren't any more defensive than other builds, and maybe even less, and you have to attack at least once to kill the downed enemy. And in general summon builds don't attack directly at all.

With enough CHA all of the stats of everyone else also belong to you.
>>
>>733649603
This limits you from true brilliance. The CHA maxxer will never make an astonishing scientific breakthrough. He will never lift up a car to save a child or leap between rooftops to evade capture.

He is held back by the capabilities of his companions and society at large. And those can never compare to the extremes that RPG characters can achieve.

a bunch of RPGs actually. They have a reputation for being easy but the ones with difficulty settings can get intense
A recent example:
I think bg3 finale would actually be pretty hard if you stayed at level 10 or 11 and you weren't on retard difficulty.

Oh wait cha let's you get a bunch of allies to come in and beat the final boss that's...a terrible example...ummm ok rogue trader. Or any other owlcat game. You def want to maximize exp
