Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 when they introduce new squad members halfway through with their own skills and abilities you have to learn
Is this fun for some people?

>45 minutes long intro
>an hour and a half and you're just making it out of the starting camp
>over 2 hours and you're just venturing in the first main town of the game with a full squad
>now that you have all the systems the game to offer, you can't refund

Dragon's Dogma 2 and its creators should be put to the torch
On a side note, here's an example from yesteryear: Inquisition's title drop takes place anywhere from 10 to 20 hours into the game, depending on how thoroughly you go about the introduction

Dragon's Dogma did this to me. A friend recommended it to me, so I started it 3 times, put an hour or two into it each time. I figured I'd probably drop it, and then one time it clicked and spent a couple hundred hours on it, and it became one of my favorite games.

I think, especially for /v/tards, being recommended a game actually makes it more difficult to enjoy it. I noticed it in myself, when somebody tells me I'll enjoy a game, I kind of set out to prove them wrong. Once I noticed I was doing that, I found I enjoyed A LOT more games.

Remember when games started after you pressed start?

No unwanted loredumps, no hand holding tutorials that treat you like a retarded game reviewer. You got to enjoy and experience the game immediately.

>Game constantly ranks how stylish you are based on how many unique moves you pull off
>Locks the majority of moves behind an in-game store that you can’t fully unlock until the end of the game

Mass effect 1. The first three hours or so are an absolute slog. The game doesn't start until you leave the citadel.
