you can be kinda jerky with movement and still outmaneuver enemies. i've only played 4 and 5 but you barely need to use the gun and that's the only real piece of precision on the planes.

Are you trying to gun every plane out of the sky?
Are enemies zipping in and out of your HUD and can't get a proper lock-on?

Stop using novice controls. For some retarded reason they renamed them "Standard" in this title. Expert controls are how the game is meant to be played, and it makes it far easier to control your plane the way you actually want to.
