Anybody played this? I'm only an hour or two in but it's pretty fun so far.
>>733652973it was pretty good but holy shit the combat is retarded
>>733653218Yeah I'm still not sure if I should be playing with realtime combat or not. I think I might set it to turn-based instead.
>>733652973>Anybody played this?Don't take a gun-wielding character. A mage, melee, or character with charisma are the best choices.
>>733652973yeah i did, but i never got to final bossHarm is the strongest spell and cha is broken
>Hey guys, it's me Tim. Today I came to tell you that you will never get Arcanum 2.Why is he so ruthless?
>Don't take a gun-wielding character.No.
>>733653776Someone should break into his house and steal the Arcanum code he has
Get the dog and keep him alive, he will go and kill everything for you before you can get your weapon out
Look up the city you get Dog in while avoiding spoilers otherwise, and when you get to that city, do the thing where you run to the gnome (or whatever) who is kicking the dog to death so that you don't miss out on him. He has finite HP and you can just find a dead dog after exploring the city normally and realize you missed out. >>733653257I just cheesed the combat, some people have fun breaking the high tech or magic stuff to make it interesting but I just found the system so clunky that I played it for the story/dialogue/setting and did whatever worked (Harm abuse, superpowerful Dog). I'd toggle realtime only if Dog was going to run off and bite ten diamondonium golems to death before I could even get a shot off.
unctrash
>>733654527I missed the dog on my first playthrough but I was playing a mage and made up for it by reanimating powerful enemies as my thralls(lethe wyvern and a lich)
>>733653945Why is the magic knight not wearing any pants?
>>733652973Second or third favorite game of all time for me.I play real-time since it's really the most fun when you do cool shit like maximize attack speed (turning a bow into an arrow machine gun) or just screw around with magic. But really this game is like Fallout where the primary enjoyment comes from mechanics not just dialogue/story. And not just combat, there creative ways to use pickpocket and lockpicking for money beside the obvious. The crafting can be pretty cool like you find tons of mats in garbage bins for molotovs for the throwing skill. And ofc the magic trees which are full of cool cantrips that even invalidate some skills (similar to Bethesda games).
>>733656074They weren't invented in the middle ages yet.
>>733652973It has a nice world, but the combat is total garbage and completely falls apart towards the end. In my only playthrough, I had a huge party and was instantly killing everything within a split second. It was just ridiculous. It is a really a shame, because the game starts off pretty good. Like the golems at one of the first areas in the game, which are pretty difficult to kill.
I like how when you have a low int character it even changes how your journal is written.
>>733652973The game had a lot of really good, creative ideas that I think are salvageable for future installments or crpgs.I loved playing it but it was the weakest world made by devs that had a reputation for masterpieces. Still, I would love to see more content in its setting, maybe focused in on a smaller region so they can detail it better.
eliminate all gnomes
Horrible fucking combat. Idk why shitlennials jerk off such obvious dogshit when games like HoMM 3 and even tims fallout 1 blew this out of the water
Is there a way to use the fast travel map from anywhere or do I always have to leave the area I'm currently in first?
>>733657609It's like with Fallout, you need to leave the map first.
Is it true that Raven is a romance option? I never got anywhere with her.
Also what does this button do?>>733657750I see, thanks.
Do I need some other mods in order to play Arcanum comfortably, or is the Unofficial Patch going to be enough?
Anons, I just want you to know that I'm proud of you for not talking the bait. Thank you for making /v/ a better place.
