Hey, kids. Want to se irl culling lag?
Step one. Try to reduce salt consumption for at least a month.
Step two. Cut on the water drinking to a minimum.
Step three. Lay down so that your legs will be at higher level than your head.
Step four. Keep like that for around thirty minutes.
Step five. Swiftly stand up at an instance.
Step six. Don't die

Light or electron passing through it will always cause interference while in other situations (like in a concentrated beam) they behave more like particles instead of waves
The point is that the way you measure it affects it's behavior, not that whether you observe it or not

I used to think the double slit experiment was proof of some sort of quantum consciousness (it still might be idk)

I think my understanding of it now - is that if you observe the particles before they enter the slit there's no opportunity for the quantum probability bullshit to occur - so they're like "oh you already know where we're going so that's the thing that's now happening"
you collapse the probability wave function or whatever it's called

I still think it's some bullshit though, I get that it happens... but why? You're telling me I just have to believe that this thing is in a superposition - because it just is okay?

The quantum world is so small and so fast that physics start to break. Light moves mass so fast that things get weird at such an infinitesmal and fast scale, its inconceivable to the human mind to really comprehend what is going on here.
Its the closest thing we have to having been able to observe the subtlest, most underlying layer of our reality. The only reason the world appears the way it does to us on a macro scale is because we have evolved with senses to survive / hunt.
The actual fundamental reality of the universe was designed / came to be without the need to justify its own workings to something that evolved with the senses we have, it is only natural that some of the more esoteric aspects of existence would elude us.
Hell, there COULD BE some phenomenon in the universe that exists that would make it all make complete sense, but we didn't evolve the sense organs capable of experiencing it so we are shit out of luck and will never be able to perceive the entirety of the truth with no veil.
>>
>>733659617
"observe" in the context of the double slit experiment means the photon was struck with another particle, not that someone was literally looking at it
The photon behaves like a wave, until it hits another billiard ball, only then it behaves like a billiard ball
>>
>>733660350
See, this is why people hate scientists. They use natural language in ways that seem purpose built to confuse normies. But they didn't do it deliberately as such. What they did is make a hypothesis with natural language and then tried to back it up with maths and empirical evidence and found out they were almost but not entirely wrong. But they still discovered something cool. But ego means they can't just admit this simple truth, that their hypothesis was complete horseshit and they'll have to rewrite it all to match the new shit they just discovered, or worse, they know that the guy who made the hypothesis is so well respected it would be their total career death if they disproved it so instead they just massage the definitions of everything until no word means what it should mean. And we're all just expected to play along and learn all the different definitions of what sounds like english based on which model of physics we're playing today like it's a D&D rulebook for a game played by idiots.
>>
>>733653386
Spin it faster. Turn the sensitivity to max and spin that shit
>>
>>733660350
yeah but when you look at it your eye beams should collide with the photons, no? otherwise you wouldn't be able to see it
>>
>>733660350
yeah you put it in better words than I did

>>733660315
>tfw we never evolved to hunt 4D mammoth

I don't have much faith in E=Mc2 + AI if I'm being honest with you

>>733661220
your eye beams aren't interacting with the photon that's travelling though, it's just seeing the pattern it makes on the screen
an electron is too small for the naked eye to see so it just doesn't render it or even replace it with a png for that matter
>>
>>733661127
Scientists don't obfuscate anything, you just have poor reading comprehension and a terrible attitude. Read nigga. The history of atomic physics is easy to understand if you follow along discovery to discovery. Even a sub 90IQ can understand relativity if you read how Einstein figured it out
>>733661220
Yes actually, the wave form of a photon collapses as it hits your eye exactly the same as when a photon in the double slit experiment is struck by a particle. But don't confuse the final location of the photon (the plate where the pattern is observed) with the actual moment of "observation" which is when the photon is struck by a particle as it passes thru the plate
