What did i think of it?

you just played it because they recently added the easy mode, so you didn't beat the game and what >>733657050 says

tranny shit
made for females
with a setting made for males
ugly characters
dogshit writing
same loop repeated 50 times
>>
I really liked it but I think the story shits the bed halfway through. The entire throughline of travelers working for some unknown entity (AI? humans in the future?) was really cool. Absorbing humans and bringing them to the machine for upload was neat. Finding the remains of past travelers who were paving the path toward something, best part of it. But then you get to the whole Veronika and Pathfinder plot and it becomes a convoluted nonsense. I think they should've kept it minimal, mysterious, unknowable. The personal angle was just a huge expense, and it made the setting/story worse.
>>
I really liked it.
had some problems with the very first boss, that black bitch before the first rift.
but after that everything went pretty smoothly.
I also didn't know that the ammo you can buy from the shops are limited to each shop so I missed a bunch of bullets in first quarter of the game.
but in the end I had like 200 Javelin ammo for the pathfinder lol
mainly used the Sword and sometimes the Hammer switched later on to the Mace.

I didn't understand some of the monsters tho.
there were a bunch of them that had stone like skin which I couldn't penetrate so I shot the tentacle limbs.
still don't know if that was the right call.

was it a financial success? because I didn't see anyone here or on Twitch talking about.

hope they make a second one.

Decent Dead Space/RE clone with a ton of flaws but still pulls through as a solid 6/10 for me. It's worth a play but do not buy it at full price. Probably the biggest flaw for me was the pacing. Some of the levels overstayed their welcome and some sequences were tense and fun the first time through, but then the game would kill it by repeating the same sequence over and over. For example, the fake dead guys on the walls that usually appear when you're forced to navigate through a narrow corridor was cool and fun the first time. Was annoyingly repetitive by the 4th and 5th time.

>was it a financial success?
It will probably turn profit in 2-3 years. Whether that's acceptable to Bloober I don't know. But every survival horror game except RE and SH2 is like this so hopefully they went in with the right expectations.

>decent dead space/re clone
no

You thought that Polacks are mentally ill to be making games (and movies, and TV shows) about how evil socialism is 40 years after it had ended.
>>
>>733658853
it was waaay better than Calisto Protocol tho
>>
>>733658853
Its a decent game dude not everything needs to be 100 or a 0.
>>
why not just play the Dead Space remake instead of this
>>
>>733658882
well they have nothing better than this.

>>733658853
Yes. Not everything is shite.
>>
>>733656471
The central plot of boring. Weapons are boring. No suit customization.

I like the aesthetic but i really dislike how vague everything was. There was way too much lore for how vague it was. Also the whole communism angle doesn't play into it, is not really a political story. Given how the virus is implied to have spread, a capitalist government wouldn't have done much better either. The combat feels like Dead Space but weaker. I really like the main character, how her emotionless demeanor starts breaking down once shit starts getting personal, that was kino. Another weakness is that the enemy variety comes via the enemies merging, which you dont want because it just makes everything harder, so you end up preventing it as much as possible. Something else i didn't like was how most places with enemies all have that flesh wall thing, so there was no element of surprise, as soon as you saw that wall type you knew what was coming. Bosses were also ok, most had very little lore, they just felt like bigger enemies. Overall it is good, like a B, i recommend it if you like horror games, you can certainly do much much worse. Overall aesthetic and setting is its strongest aspect.

>>733657274
Literary zero trannies in the game (or really much politics at all, which is funny given the setting.

>>733657783
First boss was the best because of the lore build up, late bosses were harder but also just like "here is this giant monster that made up of other melted monster together". Particularly the steelworks boss, felt like a missed opportunity. The game really teases a sort of big reveal, like you were gonna be present in the past and see patient zero get mutated but that never happens and not much is explained.

>>733658324
I think there is a lot of interesting stuff to expand on, i found the theory that it might have been a virus created by the process of time travel itself on the human body, very interesting but that also ends up going nowhere.
>>
>>733662275
I replayed DS1 and 2 way too much.
I wanted something new.
>>
>>733662275
Because i already played Dead Space like 12 years ago on the 360
>>
>>733663161
The remake changes a few minor story beats while improving the graphics and retaining the combat feel. If you are a fan of action horror, or just a fan of Dead Space, you owe it to yourself to play the remake.

>I like the aesthetic but i really dislike how vague everything was.
I think it wasn't vague enough. The main plot was spelled out for you in great detail, and it was its weakest point. My favorite moment was finding the save room that was built by the other traveler. This one save room had extra latin chorus on top of the save room theme.
>My work is endless. My failures are numerous. Such is our calling.
That was absolute kino. Not the "Veronika I love you" slop.
>>
>>733663578
Ok, sorry maybe i didn't communicatedi properly. I already played the original on the Xbox 12 years ago.
>>
>>733663801
The story could have worked, but there was way too much time spent on buildup that went nowhere. The steelworks is all buildup and the church is all build up, which ultimately goes nowhere. I would play a sequel that expands more on who the collective are, the virus, even the fucked up love story.
>>
>>733664126
I would actually prefer to not get answers. I think anything they can come up with will be way worse than imagining the unknown. The steelworks and the church are building up something, but not the main characters. It's disjointed, you are uncovering the world and its rules and suddenly it's a horror love story, that's why it feels like it goes nowhere. Removing the fucked up love story would make it more cohesive, because you could spend that slot on weaving in more atmosphere around the buildup and the collective without giving definitive answers.
>>
>>733664126
>even the fucked up love story.
It can easily work if our traveler from the true end goes on to save the human version of the Warden. That's probably be boring though.

I enjoyed it
I liked that the story you are playing is fairly self contained even if the larger "universe" has a bunch of unexplained stuff.
The merging enemy meme didnt make that much of a difference on the gameplay imo, i ended with like 12 enemies having merged in the whole campaign
Was the first game i played @1440p 120hz since i bought a new monitor and it was pretty enough.
Dunno if you like the genre pick it up on a sale or pirate it, its worth a playthrough imo

Played on OLED. Pretty cool.

I pirated it right at launch and played it quite a bit, but at some point I just stopped. It’s actually a solid game and the best thing Bloober has made so far in my opinion. It was just missing that extra something, maybe more enemy variety or better puzzles. It didn’t grab me as much as other similar games like re4, dead space, evil within. I will definitely buy it when it’s on sale and give it a full playthrough.
>>
>>733664705
I bought a cheap IPS too ($150) even though I could buy OLED. 5070Ti and I play at 1080p/60fps and don't plan to change it. OLED is a hassle.
>>
I don't care.
Now tell us what you thought of Alien Isolation, Dead Space or something.
>>
>>733665367
It was also $60 on release right?
>>
Why did this game get so much hate on release? It's not Dead Space, but definitely a solid survival horror with a lot of atmosphere.
>>
Dunno, I wont play it because its female protagonist.
>>
>>733667672
The protagonist is a fat bald brown woman so no one wanted to play it.
>>
>>733667789
No, she's just goo in a space suit. You never see her face because she doesn't have one and her being female is crucial for the story to work.
>>
>>733656471
I really liked it. The atmosphere was real good and the heavy suit was fun, but wish they did more with it. I don't know, let me slam my shoulder into somebody or headbutt a bitch. It only felt heavy when you had to run back and forth to the box to dump stuff off and that was kinda lame. The story was good up until we started to have emotions and the twist wasn't too bad. Bit predictable, but I still liked it. The puzzles were very lacking and the inventory system felt restrictive, but I'm also the kind of person who won't use something if I don't literally need to.
Also loved how we came across other Travelers with their own robotic speech. 7.5/10 due to atmosphere and ambience. Loses points for second half story and minor issues that mount up, like phylacteries and weapons being unbalanced. 60 bucks is pushing it, I only got about 40 hours in total, but I will probably play it again this year.
>>
>>733656471
I also enjoyed TPS survival horror number 56745
>>
>>733667789
you're indian
>>
what was the point of the questions in the beginning of the game?
>>
>>733669215
is she not brown then?

because this is crucial whether I play it or not
>>
>>733670960
She is unironically a white brunette with blue eyes.
>>
>>733670336
>I don't know, let me slam my shoulder into somebody or headbutt a bitch.
There's one persona that increases melee/stomp damage significantly. One good charged shot to the leg, and you could stomp someone. Or a charged headshot, and you pummel them to death while they are stunned. Shame it's not a baseline gameplay loop with even less ammo so you are forced into it more, but it's definitely there. Unless you mean a scripted headbutt, which would make little sense given it's her phylactery.
>>
>>733670960
Spoiler for a retard like you i guess, she is some sort of clone thing of an eastern european women.
>>
>>733669215
Pretty sure the essences collected become the travelers. There are two clues to this, one is a document of one traveler who says he thought it was cool to be a monster hunter in a space suit but now he is lonely, implying he remembers a normal life. two is when you are activating the second train, you see a story via drawings of a traveler defending people, the kid who drew it eventually becomes infected and the traveler turns out to be her mom who extracts him and then commits suicide with the arbalest weapon.
>>
>>733671324
I know about that phylactery yeah and it was kinda fun, but if I remember right, the best two phylacteries were the first two you picked up anyway. so I would toss out the third one.
but I moreso meant a physical attack as opposed to take advantage of the heavy metal armour you wear. We can effortlessly take a bullet withotu even flinching, im pretty sure a headbutt on some nice, soft flesh would be perfectly fine
