Are visual novels video games?
>>733656892There should be a vn board
>>733656892kanae should have had an ending
No
Yes. Duh. Only retards would say no. But only ones where you have input. With no input it stops being a video game (interactive)
>>733656947/jp/ but yeah youre right
>>733656892I would rape them both. They deserved what happened to them. Dirty cult leaders.
>>733656892I wonder how many anon got new fetish after playing this at young age
>>733656892but why includes feces and gore though? who could possibly masturbate to that shit? it's awful!
There are VNs who can be classified as games but a good amount of them aren't.
>>733656947It wouldn't be alive enough to justify it. VNs peaked back in the 00s, there aren't enough games coming out nowadays
>>733657056I mostly agree with you, but then what would you call something like Witch on the Holy Night which has no dialogue choices at all (with the exception of the final post-game gag chapter). The only agency a player gets otherwise is that between major chapters, it sometimes adds extra books onto the shelf which the player can choose to experience (which is essentially side stories) or choose to go straight to the next chapter.
>>733657326>but then what would you call something like Witch on the Holy Night which has no dialogue choices at allKinetic novels
Yes, if it has multiple endings. If a VN has good endings/a true ending, and one or more bad endings, then it has win and lose states that are reached via player input. It is therefore a game.
>>733657432You beat me to it. This debate on VNs goes back to the 80s lol. Game or not game. They called it 'interactive fiction' back then. But even in those large packs of games that one team is working on they kind of keep the games as games, and the kinetic novels in their own sections.
>>733657538Do I... get to punch little girls in that one? Seems like rape... Definitely my favorite part of Euphoria was the rape and punching Nemu.
>>733657809Yeah but not in the face.
>>733658132Is the Steam version censored? Patchable?
>Is a glorified anime book a video game?
Last time we had a thread about Fate/Stay Night a few days ago, it got deleted right after I made a post about my experience with it, so no.
>>733656892Is a novel a game? Lol.
>>733658294Is a video a visual?
>>733658232Yes but the patch is free.It disables achievements just like other Nitro VNs on Steam so anyone with 20+ hours but no achievements has been jerking off kek
>>733656892Yes and no.
>>733658290I think mods are just picky about which VNs you can discuss.Threads about Mojika get 300+ replies and then deleted.
>>733656947/vg/'s /vn/ is basically a glimpse into what /vn/ as a board would be likeaka dead and unfunny
where do I start with VNsI don't know if I want to masturbate or cry, probably bothI'm learning japanese...............
>>733657809Ok but that's not Nemu.
>>733657538By your retard logic this is a critically acclaimed video game series.
>>733658967Nemu isn't NemuDid you reply to the wrong person?
>>733659073>Calls others retard while posting pure unfiltered retardationYour soon to be distilled retardation is cute, sweaty, but not needed here. Adults are talking.
>>733659073CYOA books are a game, yes.Did you know games exist outside of screens?
Nope, they are novels. Thats why its called "visual novel" and not "visual game". The only exceptions are the text-heavy adventure games like Danganronpa which get lumped in with real VNs
>>733659528We already discussed this, you are wrong and late.
>>733657003Does the prostate orgasm one count?
Maggot Baits > Euphoria
They are a type of cyoa literature that is consumed digitally, not a video game. See Disco Elysium
>>733656892no, if they were games, they would be called games and not visual novels
>>733656892Who cares?
>>733656947And an ai board and morebut they don't really care
