frankly, somewhere between 50 and 60 bux
Or you could just not be a retard and buy the switch 2 pro controller
that'll be $100 + TAX + TIP
Been there.Done that. Never again.Life expectancy is less than 1 year.An valve has consistently dropped support for their hardware in this exact time frame.Fooled me not once, but twice.Never again. You're a god damn fool if you buy hardware from valve. What a shame it is you're going to defend it and find out the hard way.
Or you could just be a retard and buy the shitch 2 pro controller.
it'll be 99.99and it'll be worth it
it'll be $70
about three fiddy
>>733660501Frankly the stick placement is disgusting
>>733660548>switch 2 proIt's shit why wouldn't you just get a XB1 controller instead. Switch 2 pro doesn't even have PC support yet afaik, but I haven't tried in a few months.
>>733660501My ancient 14yo xbox controller has been asking for replacement lately, and I've been thinking about the steam controller. But my fear is that this chungus controller will be too big for my hands as I have small ones, and that you will constantly randomly touch the touchpads when using joysticks.
>>733660856>PC supportWho fucking cares
>>733660501its never coming out cause there's no ram on the market
I felt like today would finally be the day, for some reason. It wasn't.
>>733660548>>733660909Who fucking cares about your fisher price tablet ? start another cp drama and get lost faggot.
>>733660909>pc controller thread>who cares about PC support?I can't even explain how retarded you are.
I wish valve didn't make literal dogshit hardware (and software). Everything about this controller is good ON PAPER. Sadly, when you factor in all the failure points because they can't build anything of value, the shitty steam overlay experience you'll be forced to use to set basic button maps, and recharging like a third worlder instead of a quick swap battery, the whole thing falls apart. Hopefully someone more sensible clones it.
>>733660887There are pictures out there comparing it next to other controllers. It's the same same size as any of the console first party controllers.
>>733660548>fucked up a, b, x and y placementNo thanks, fag
I love how valve shills pretend like the track pads are some genius invention thanks changes gsmingbfotever when oldfags have been playing on laptop track pads since the 90s and know how shot they are.
>>733660909Everyone in the thread? I'm ashamed to even own a switch 2 with people like you being in the same boat as me.
>>733661179better than the "share" button
>>733660548>buy the switch 2 pro controllereveryone glazes this and I bought it and it's sub-par compared to power-A, 8bitdo and gamesir while costing twice as much. I'm convinced you only play casual games or pokemon if you recommend this jeetware controller. For heavier play like hack n slash or something requiring dexterity, you need third-party like the 3 related. Not this piece of shit.
>>733661179They're useful on controllers for brief use, or having a bunch of extra binds in one spot. If you're planning on constantly using it for mouse aiming or something then yeah I have no idea why you'd consider any form of trackpad over a proper mouse.
I'll buy it even if it's at something like $150I got plenty of use out of my steam controller and having two trackpads and sticks would justify the cost to meI should clarify that I have my PC hooked up to my TV so I'm not at a desk
>>733662645>I'll buy it even if it's at something like $150Valve cocksuckers are retarded.
>>733660501$150-$350Premium product, chuddie
>>733662358I have a 8bitdo and it's fucking garbage so I cannot take your opinion seriously.
>>733660803to be more specific, the sticks shouldn't be on there at allthe pads are complete successors to sticks
Flydigi makes good controllers for this price range.
$120 and only sold through the Steam store so enjoy that almost week wait for delivery
>>733660501why steam fats need coasters on their controlleryou eithr game or eat
>>733666003I can't imagine using those pads instead of sticks. How do you know where your thumb is in relation to the pad at all times? Does it "snap back" after you release? Then you just are supposed to know where to put your thumb after?
>>733666678yeah with THOSE pads specifically it's probably a crapshootwith the origina stylel pads they were concave so you could easily find the center point without having to put a thought into it
>>733666931Even a little bump like on the F and J keys of a keyboard would help
>>733666931I’m looking at the original Steam controller now and they are just barely concave to the point that I never actually noticed it. The images of the prototype Index controllers had really concave trackpads that looked like bowls. I always thought that design looked very useful if you wanted to use them as a stick replacement since sliding your finger up the sides would gradually add more force. It seems unlikely that such a controller will ever actually be made though, so I will never get to see if they would work like I expected them too. However, I’m personally satisfied with analog sticks, so I don’t mind just using the trackpads for secondary features.>>733660640My Steam link had an update this past weekend even though the hardware has been discontinued for years since it was replaced by the app you can just download. That seems like plenty long life expectancy for me.
