In general I love how Nintendo DS graphics are like a sweet spot between N64 and PS1
>not quite as good at big open 3D areas as the N64 but textures not as smeary
>not quite as good at prerendered backgrounds and videos as PS1 but textures are no longer a wobbly mess

DS was awesome, its only big issue was the lack of a stick/nub. This is already what historically hurt the PS1 and many PS1 games that were designed for the original controller and Nintendo for some reason decided to repeat Sony's mistake from 10 years ago

Had the DS had a stick/nub, I bet developers would've developed more proper 3D games for it too

When people say what's the best way to play RE1, I always recommend the DS version. It brings it up to the standard of RE3 with all of its gameplay enhancements while still maintaining the original look. REmake kiddies, go away. I'm tired of you faggots saying REmake replaced the original entirely.

What sucks is that it's half baked. Your friends are just floating markers and the enemies aren't synched. I was hoping it would have been a cool full blown bonus mode where you go through the entire mansion as Bravo Team together.
I'm still waiting for some indie dev to make a classic RE knock off with online multiplayer and a randomizer.

PSX really seemed to suck at that or at least most devs at the time-- so many games have bad lod with black "fog" or wallpapers like in Ape Escape
