Expedition 33 is respectful of your time and money
>>
I mean they're right. In terms of linear story games, roughly 80 hours for 45$ is a way better deal than the majority of releases(mostly triple A) that are centered around the idea of a once and done playthrough.
>>
>>733672114
Agree to disagree.
>>

fpbp
>>
fag33 is a shit game
>>
>>733672664
im trans btw
>>
Half of their published games are shovelware, so brave to claim such a thing.
Then again one would assume that every publisher says that their games are great deal.
Would be kinda stupid going around saying that your games are bad.
>>
So I started Expedition 33 recently, and I'm awful at dodging. I never was good at reading enemy animations in games, except for games where the enemy telegraphs their attacks with visual cues like flashing or something, e.g. Viewtiful Joe, Bayonetta, Metal Gear Rising, NieR:Automata, etc... And I honestly can't hear the "audio cues" everyone mentions. All I can do is mash the dodge button during an enemy's turn and hope for the best. Can't beat Maelle down by the docks. Should I just say "fuck it" and stop/ move on to other games I actually enjoy playing? I NEED a visual cue that isn't just watching an enemy swing their sword in under 1/10th of a second. The way it currently is, the game's just not for me. It frustrates me because E33 is a game I WANT to like, mainly for the premise and soundtrack, but I just can't.
>>
>>733673114
I never noticed the audio cues because I always had the music loud.
It's just Paper Mario combat.
>>
>>733673298
Never did like Paper Mario.
Considering just reading the plot on wikipedia, look up the endings, and just moving on. Fortunately, I checked the game out from the local library (for PS5) so I have lost absolutely nothing except for my time.
>>
>>733672201
The game is only 20 hours long?
>>
>>733673114
Put it on ezmode, they put it there for retards like you so you never have to dodge or parry.
>>
>>733673114
It’s a story game you should use cheats
>>
Resident Evil 9 is 80 Europe bucks on PSN for the default base version of the game (95 dollars)
>>
>>733673464
No it's not. If you play the game blind as intended it's around 50 hours for the full MSQ, and 80 for 100% including new content.
>>
But I torrented
>>
>>733673506
>for retards like you
Nevermind. That mentality is exactly what I hate about fandoms. Just going to look up the endings, thanks for convincing me to.
>>
>>733672114
They can afford to be since they had AI make the game for them, and it shows.
>>
>>733673713
ok, have fun retard

I have better games to play.

I see a lot of people praising it for the story alone, but I wouldn’t pay that much money to sit through something worse written than a Hollywood movie let alone a good book. If you like it, whatever, but saying one should play it because the story is good isn’t a good sell.

turn based games are inherently disrespectful to your time
>>
>>733672114
>RPG is respectful of your time
methinks no

>>733672114
>Game that is totally an indie gets a price hike because their publisher is a bunch of greedy kikes
Lol
>>
>>733672114
>>
>>733673114
Yeah, it's hard. I never even try to parry. I get hit often so I just boost vitality. Really it's trial and error until you can memorize their attack patterns. Still having fun. Still haven't needed to bump to easy mode. Got a pretty good party with lune and maelle so I'm happy with it.
>>
>>733672114
Man, I'd wish UT5 had existed. I'd love to shoot people in the face as Gustave.
>>
>>733675054
>I never even try to parry.
Thing is, I can't even dodge right. I tried Maelle at the docks (the day after the Gommage, before setting out) FIVE FUCKING TIMES, I got her low once, but I just can't beat her. Once again... I want to like the game, but the game isn't allowing me to. Got other games to play, like ones I resolved to beat this year and clear out some of my backlog.

get good, bitch. E33 is 33 hours long, as it was meant to be.
It's like pottery.
>>
>>733675631
You just need to memorize. I had to redo it once. If you can't do that then maybe story mode is more your speed. The story is what's keeping me involved so it's worth it. It's like a breath of fresh air compared to most vidya stories. Definitely earned their goty.
>>
>>733679109
>Definitely earned their goty.
I'm sure it did, but I already dislike turn-based games but was willing to give it a shot because of the story that everyone seems to love, and the soundtrack.

Already youtubed the only things I was really curious about after finding the dodge timing unbearable, the Paintress fight and the endings. Got other stuff to play. If I wanted to memorize enemy animations, I'd just play a Souls game, where I can at least strafe around them, but be stuck in one place w/ "three niggas in a row" combat and hope to god I get the timing right.

Thanks anyway. Glad you enjoyed it.

>>733672114
out of every jrpg i have played, and i havent played many to be fair, e33 respects your time the most. I would say most games dint respect our time, what with them being padded to shit and back. And most people thinking you need an hour per dollar, which just leads to craapy long games.
>>
>>733680836
So why the fuck are you even here if you've already made up your mind?
>>
>>733681772
You simply don't get it, you aren't a true intellectual like I. Maybe read some books and come back later once you are on my same level.
>>
>>733681867
You only read books because you have the reaction time of a 98 year old woman. I can't help that you're to fucking stupid to memorize attack timings.

HOW DARE YOU?

I will let you know i beat the entirety of Touhou at max diff. I also play lots of Legend of Zelda and Mario party.

My reaction times are fine, its just that Clair obscur: Expedition 33 Copyright is simply a bad trash dog, horse, cow, bird, lion, elephant poopie game

I have no idea what this is supposed to be but you're gay for doing it.

Not it isn't. No RPG is. I played this game for two hours, recognized it as the boring, melodramatic movie it was, and refunded it. Anyone unironically shilling this shit needs to be nailed to a cross.

You talk like a marketer.
>>
>>733681423
If you want a JRPG that respects your time, play Lunar: Silver Star Story. Even with the cutscenes they added to the PS1/Saturn release, it's a 20 hour game you can play in a weekend. And it still manages to tell a complete story hitting all the usual beats.

you will not become parry-god until much later in the game. just play the game straight up like any old classic rpg and heal when you take damage.
Act 1 is just button-massing with a pleasant surprise when your parry lands, the goal here is to learn battle flow and basic character synergies and survival.
Act 2 is training your anticipation and regularly block the simple enemy combos to fuel counterattacks and high AP special attack, with regularly spaced optional bosses to test your mettle and barely survive.
Act 3 is, outside of the story levels, just chock full of fast-twitch cocaine-bear parry-or-die ultra-kino boss fights, should you choose to not cheese with one-shot builds.
>>
Come to think of it, E33 would probably be worse if it was AAA not AA, because it would be padded with more unnecessary content. That could happen to the sequel.

Thanks for the warning, easy mode it is. I just want the story, I dislike turn-based combat unless there's a real-time element, which there is (I liked Shadow Hearts, Lost Odyssey, and Super Mario RPG), and the "press X to do perfectly" thing appeals to me. Just, the invisible QTE icon when enemies attack ME. Not a fan.
>>
>>733673114
What you do is install a mod that renames Easy to "super duper ultra hardcore" and then you can play on that, you shitter.
