Do you ever feel like you're "chasing the dragon" when playing vidja? I just came a across a game that looks like this (picrel) and was genuinely astounded
why is the player soijaking
I did when I was playing Classic WoW, felt like chasing an old high. naturally it didn't reignite any kind of spark nowadays I usually feel it whenever I'm down, since I know ultimately vidya is a distraction from my shitty life and the game often isn't good enough to stop those pervasive thoughts intruding

Whenever I play the same game for too long I start asking myself what my actual goal with this game is. If it's not "complete the game" I realize I'm wasting my life and that I should play something different. "100% complete the game" is also acceptable. That trick does a good job at keeping me from playing forever games and mmos.
