yeah the console version is pretty must just a standalone expansion pack to the original Sims port. was it even a port? the game was full 3D.

It had a bunch of improvements like full 3D, new and/or unique objects, traveling to other residential lots in the story mode, and massively increased create-a-sim options that in some elements were better than Sims 2's, like shoes being separate from bottoms.Also there's a proper day-night cycle with unique lighting and dynamic shadows rather than Sims 2's binary day or night lighting that suddenly shifts. But there were still no weekends and the core of the game was still built on the Sims 1 formula. No aging, no teens, no wants and fears or aspirations, no options to customize your sims' alternative outfits like sleepwear or swimwear.
