Featherswords are solid dodge-tanks with good single target damage, can prioritize back-row enemies like mages and archers, and do good with buffs.Featherbows are very good, their reactive row blind is insanely good, passive seal and defense redution is handy.Feathershields are some of the best tanks you get with some evasion and plenty of MDef, they can also fuel whatever PP accessories you want without trouble.Featherstaffs are kinda just there, they're not bad, Holy Cradle is nice and Holy Breath is very useful against some enemy types. They work well with dodge tanks, but outside of those or gimmicky overheal teams you're usually fine or better off with a normal cleric.

Arrow cover only blocking arrows can actually be a good thing since it means they don't waste pp blocking other attacks. Also worth noting they actually block any ranged physical attack, which includes stuff like gryphons and wyverns aiming at your horses.I don't remember if swords have better unique weapon skills than lances but that's another thing to consider. This is the funny video of the final boss being killed by 5 vanguards using a fire sword and then spamming stuns while he burns to death.
