For years, people said the graphics were the only bad thing but the remaster really highlighted just how empty and repetitive this whole game is. Everyone got hyped when it came out and nobody plays it or talks about it anymore

Oblivion is a goofy ass game
They kind of blew it with the graphics. Original Oblivion was full of bright green and blue, aesthetically pleasing colors. The remade version is excessively brown. I was looking forward to playing it but then I realized it looks kind of ugly and I lost all interest.

I have ~80hrs in the remasterMy only complaint is censoring the corpse abuseSnacking corpses was fun, fucking bitchesOh and gimping the food stealing. They made food respawn twice as often so if you steal someone’s food they don’t starve and start stealing anymore which is downright crapThat was the best part of the originalIt was because of this one NPC I always had aggro and die in my old games I realized in this new one was because I used to steal all his ham/venison (rare) and not because of a glitch, which is funny as fuck

my biggest issue was that ive already played the fuck out of oblivion. i bought this becauuse i loved the game but i played it on one charachter to level 18 or so and havnt touched it again just because ivplayed oblivion so much

I grew up with Oblivion, played skyrim to death after. Never got around to playing morrowind until this week.I really do understand the criticisms now. I defended oblivion, but now that I understand the contrast I see how far the rot went in bethesda. Every success they've had has been a fluke. They really are atrocious game designers. Morrowind is amazing, truly. While Oblivion is easier to play out the box, its shallow as hell. morrowind level 1-4 is an insane leap. Oblivion 1-20 is the same bullshit, except you now moon jump everywhere.

When remastered came out I replayed the real version just to see if it held up.The only real problem with it is the leveling system requires reading a 15 page dissertation, past that it has much better quest design than 80% of modern rpgs. The assassins and thieves guilds alone are some of the best questlines in rpg history.
