It's quite literally From's most complete and consistent game. And quite subjectively their most artistically interesting game, with the most satisfying finale. That it can be so divisive still I think speaks a lot to its power.

Carried hard by combat and boss design. Exploration is still enjoyable but quite a downgrade from previous Souls. Stealth is laughable but using it before a sub boss to deplete their first health bar is neat. Story is okay, the background story is more interesting, as per usual for Souls.The fact that people are divided whether or not to call it a part of Souls 'canon' more interesting imo. Both have valid arguments.
i heard it was a 10/10 masterpiece for years. during christmas last year it finally went on sale so i got it, eager to play. then i took one good look at sekiro's freakishly long arms and immediately uninstalled and requested a refund. i'm sorry, but you can not expect me to look at this monstrosity for the entire playthrough. jesus christ.

I only played it for the first time last year. But I think it's pretty solid, it's a nice game to learn and the bosses were pretty memorable. Makes me wish there was a few more fights to enjoy, but I guess that's the price we pay when the Isshin is actually difficult but simultaneously the most enjoyable final boss Fromsoft has made.
