i think league is one of the few multiplayer games I can ever enjoy, and thats just because of how many champions it has, items it has, and objectives it has, and how the game is always constantly changing, so that there isnt necessarily a dominant system, and even if there is, there are so many options and interactions, that theres always something to play around with.

Street Fighter 6 reminded me how unfun multiplayer games can be, how much it becomes focused on winning rather than fun.

I was genuinely ass at league, legit ass. I know league is one of those knowledge/experience heavy games where you have to play a lot to develop, so I didnt play that much. But the game was fun, aside from balance even when I was ass.

In SF6, its like I knew exactly what I had to improve on to win, how many hours id have to spend in the lab, but I had no desire to, because I couldnt learn while playing, the game and its system mechanics dont let you, whereas. League is a game fundamentally about experience. I even tried to learn CSing in the practice mode, and it doesnt work, because league is such a dynamic game that you cant simply run your rigid script.

Anyway if you understood all this, then you understand why Ive given up on multiplayer games in general, especially fighting games. I dont find them fun to get better at. And if I already cant get myself to play the one multiplayer game I enjoy principally (League) then why would I for anything else? Except maybe deadlock.

Combos n' shit was never the thing separating platform and traditional fighters. The issue has always been that the movement and knockout systems these games have is diametrically opposed to the normal defensive and stall game. The only way to really start to bridge the two would be to remove the whole edgeguarding and ledgetrapping element altogether, but then you'd still have issues with keepaway being nothing like usual turtling and not being as easy to design with penalizing systems like Negative Penalty, RISC, or Yomi Depression
