I just finished Shadow of Mordor. What did I think of it?

you probably enjoyed the edgekino and felt disappointed by the difficulty (or rather lack thereof) of the endgame uruks except shielded fucks that prevent vaulting, holy fuck that was not thought through at all
>>
Ive 1cc'd this game with handicaps

-No Super Human powers allowed, only regular human abilities
-After a mission i fast forward time 5 times so that nemisis orks get stronger

I liked these games but it's hard to deny that the combat was mind numbingly simple. However the faction infighting with the warchiefs was fucking cool and i really like how theres a constantly changing region of control in the game, it's almost like faction warfare but not really. A mechanic i really enjoyed.
I also engaged with the barebones stealth mechanics sometimes but it's almost assassins creed in terms of depth so now that deep, it's fun for a while until you see all it has to offer.
>>
Why are all these fuckers invulnerable to ranged?
>>
You thought about orcs that you were stabbing. You thought there were too many tower jump segments. You thought the game had great potential.
>>
I liked branding all the captains and warchiefs, but the game is kinda janky and easy, especially after you get a few upgrades. I had a friend who was obsessed with LotR, he watched the whole 12-hour marathon 3 or 4 times a year and this was his favorite game. I had fun for 20 hours, just kick back and enjoy killing orcs, as long as the game doesn't shit itself.

I loved it until I tried online invasions and ran into Orc chieftains with shields that were immune to everything (hacked Orc)
>>
>>733702313
to me it was the satisfying combat, the uglycute orcs with east london accents, the LOTR lore made me nostalgic about the early 2000s when the movies were the shit, of course the nemesis system. shadow of war is better in every aspect but mordor feels less like mordor and the orcs are more WoW like.

SUFFER ME NOW
>>
Extremely shit boss fights, you get a whole army of orcs in the end, only to stealth brand the tower twice on an empty stronghold and press 3 buttons in a quick time event to kill the final boss.
>>
>>733702313
That the end was early woke feminist bullshit.

you're a retard for not skipping the first game and enjoying the superior sequel instead
>>
>>733705281
I had bought it back in 2018 for like 1.5$ and I never played it. A month ago, Shadow of War was also 1.5$, so I thought I might as well play both now.

How is that the case when that cunt elf was wrong

First game was fun. I'm not sure why people dislike any of these monolith productions ones. There are practically the only good LOTR games to exist outside Battle for Middle Earth game and Two Towers (overrated). Also the MMO i suppose. But most of the licensed stuff was shit so this is all there is to talk about. Not so much in whether it was faithful to Tolkien but in being a licensed themed game and actually being enjoyable.

You think we psichic or something?

>faithful to Tolkien
even the movies made so much shit up. orcs were never described as feral beasts like in the movies. anywya, i just enjoyed being legolas/boromir/aragorn rolled into one and reliving the best scene from the movie where they fight the orcs in the forest.

Disappointed after all the hype over the years. You found the nemesis system kind of novel, but because you actually finish your fights almost every time and kill your enemy rather than letting them escape, you never really got to interact with it. As such, your end game nemesis ended up being some random ass literally-who enemy from your first hour or two in the game, the single one that got away while you were still learning to play. The game was overall repetitive and tedious. You'll play Shadow of War perhaps a few months or so from now.

One of the best LotR games, surprisingly. Great gameplay, visuals, atmosphere, design.

Shelob is the only thing that's substantially better in the sequel, although a bunch of core systems are improved.

I don't see how he's wrong. The first game doesn't really stand out, and has a lot of Ubislop elements dragging it down.
Meanwhile SoW you can conquer forts and manage your orcs more closely. The biggest con I can think of is that it overextends at the end.
