What does /v/ think of DLSS Frame Generation?

Does it work or is it bad?
>>
Fake frames
nuff said
>>
Why can't they generate more real frames? Why must they waste compute generating fake frames?
>>
>>733703651
All frames are fake, there's not "natural organic frame".
>>
>>733703386
Fake frames for bad optimization. x2 is alright in some games when you have a solid FPS to begin with. People who use frame gen on 30-40 FPS scare me.
>>
>>73370370
Computing has peaked and is not improving anymore.
>>
>>733703386
I think the dynamic framegen might be good
actual framegen gives me autism
idk how anyone deals with the double image / ghosting issue
>>
>>733703386
American hardware has gotten to a point where you actually want to use their special features if you have high end GPUs and such. Oblivion Remastered ran well on max graphics, if you turned shit like AI upscale and fake frames on. The visual difference is the same as 144 hertz vs 240. 60 to 144 is a massive visual difference, 144 to 240 not so much, like it's not going to get in the way of your experience unless you're genuinely autistic, and that applies to fake frames and all the other stuff.
Oblivion Remastered was fucking gorgeous btw

No.
Real frames are simply put, real.
Fake frames are interpolation between real frames. And the interpolation method is using ai slop. Because biased ai slop models are way cheaper than more accurate interpolation methods. Besides regardless of interpolation method it still is interpolation and not the real thing. Meaning it does not consider inputs. It is purely cosmetic as in literally. Fake frames do not represent what is actually happening in the game world. Hence the input delay increasing. One big reason higher frames are desired is to reduce input delay and make game smoother which is not the case with the fake frames because they actually reduce the real frames to make way for the fake interpolated ai slop frames. Did I also mention interpolated frames are fucking ugly?

They're all made up pixels, bro. Nothing you see on the screen is actually real.

>muh image quality of fake frames
you're probably running a GTX GPU on a 1080p monitor.
>>
the same people that shit on ai slop will praise dlss or just accept it

>gaming in 1997
>WOW, 320x240p and 30fps is fire! I can't wait for the future!
>2026
>22fps (hallucinated to 105), 240p (upscaled to 4k)
>>
>>733704814
It doesn't work for me, I see how yotube shills show how even upscaling from 240p works great, but it looks like fucking shit with quality (66%) preset
>>
>>733703386
very noticeable increase in input delay
>I don't feel it
you might be retarded
>>
>>733703386
everyone says it's shit until they use it, most people don't have the hardware capabilities of using it so most 'opinions' are just sour grapes
so long as you get above 60fps baseline it's completely imperceivable without adding any input latency, i use it virtually in every game that supports it now
>>
I love the smoothness...
>>
They're actual garbage, don't reflect the game state and are so expensive they worsen your real framerate and latency
They only look okay if you're not the one playing the game and feeling them
>>
>>733703386
It's good for what it is, not for what NVIDIA advertises it as. It's a good frame smoothing option that gives you the increased perception of visual fluidity once your framerate is already good, but it's advertised as a pure performance booster which for most games it simply isn't.
>>
Is there a better solution for input lag?
>>
>>733709248
yes, lowering render resolution
frame gen isn't a solution for input lag, it makes it worse
it solves nothing
>>
>>733703386
>dlss & ray reconstruction
genuinely amazing technology, free fps essentially at close to no perceivable quality loss (if not better than native if TAA implementation is ass)
>framegen
not a fan of it, i can feel the latency. However if Reflex2 ever happens, the floaty mouse feel might be fixed, and i'll reconsider using it.
>>
>>733709248
Frame gen is the opposite of a solution for input lag. You get more perceived FPS but the input lag increases. It can be off-set my reflex and upscaling but still.
>>
>>733706637
tried CP2077 with 4x FG recently, forgot about it and left it on. Didn't notice the next time I played.
>>
>>733704523
You're just relativizing shit so that nothing is real, eat shit you faggoty sophist
