I played an Ippo game once and it was virtually impossible to play because the controls were so awful. That's a bad boxing game.

>>733706973>>733707027Dont listen to anon, Victorius Road Hajime no Ippo games are the bomb, basically punching is tied to which arm you use and swaying using the dpad while movement needs the combination of holding down a shoulder botton and then using the dpad. It gets super deep once you get into different character styles, special moves and the "focus mode" or basically slow down time, which allows for some fucked up combination on your opponent.T. Beaten Riccardo in the VS. Date special match legit, no save states on Ps3 (emulating the original disc) Also the mode where you make your boxer is amazing and I have made some guides on Gamefaqs for diets and training regiments to get your character in shape to beat that monster Takamura.
>>733706973Japan-only Boxer's Road 2 combines decently fun arcade-ish gameplay (the same devs made these Ippo games on PS2), an absurd amount of AI boxers with simulated careers, and the worst, the clunkiest and the most obtuse training + nutrition system in the genre. You either are a complete autist or follow online guides to achieve any stat improvements.

Because if you fight him before, you ither have to be in Japan and catch him as a national champion or beware that you climb fast enough that you get paired against Hawk/Eagle yourself. I became the european champion first and Eur-asia title holder and then resigned all that (because the game takes in account that the WBO didnt allow for holders of the Euro-side to be also WBO champions prior to 1998) to fight Takamura, basically the superboss of the game because he has such fucked up stats that its even worst than the Riccardo vs Date fight, no matter your training he can take your head clean off and you have to win by points, unless you abuse strength training and the coconut punch of that guy Aoki fought twice, but thats taking the risk of gassing out and dying before Takamura goes down three times.
