I finished 100% last night, they really phoned in the 3rd area compared to the first 2. Overall, it's a very mid game that suffers from generic floating platform level design and overdesigned controls/physics that let you jump over everything. However, the character dialogue and boss designs have got to be the worst parts of the game. I'm not even sure why they included these "bosses."

Fans of the game screech when I say it, and point to context that proves nothing to the contrary, but my suspicion is that they may have planned on making her a troon at various stages of development. I suspect they withheld the reveal due to the shifting culture climate, and negative reaction to the commie references and LITERAL TRANNY FLAG IN-GAME. The first tip off for me was the distinction that she is Hat "Kid" and not Hat Girl. Couple that with "Mustache girl" who has a fucking mustache, because that's what people typically think a girl character needs for her design. I bring that up because I'm convinced that they have done the same thing here. Bear in mind, I am NOT saying that I think the characters are trannies canonically through some hidden lore or something. What I DO think is that the dev team has considered revealing that the characters are trannies before, during, or after development, but chose not to because they pussied out. Like what happened with Celeste. If you think Western developers are beyond such subversion, I point to Celeste. It would not surprise me to find hear that later on, one of the developers or writers will make some public statement where they say "in my mind _____ has always been trans" Just like that chick that formerly worked on Ratchet and Clank declared Rivet a lesbian, despite not having the authority to do so.
