I think the only problem with the narrative that isnt adressed just yet is the re-telling of the original game but at the same time another narrative is happening related to the lifestream branches and the whispers. They have already said all of this will connect in part 3 but it hurts rebirth narrative a bit since people are angsty and we dont have the answers.If they manage to stick the landing however it might be better than the original, easily. But it all depends on part 3, since i dont think rebirth answered much while also giving more context on the direction.And if that happens, it will be a cool thing to go back to remake and rebirth with the context of part 3, its like rediscovering the games themselves.

People prefer a straightforward story with plot twists and impactful themes, which Remake and Rebirth have so far avoided. This trilogy reminds me of The Matrix Reloaded, as soon as the franchise tried to actually address the themes it was originally trying to address, it received a bad reception. That's not inherently good or bad, but it caters to different audiences, hence why the fanbase of this game is so divided.
