I hate to say it but I desperately want a new FROM Souls game to dump hundreds of hours into. There's a ton of great games in the subgenre by other devs, some even surpassing FROM's efforts in many ways, but nothing hits quite like FROM's offerings.

You don't necessarily need to follow a guide to be good in DS1, but lord have mercy on you if you have missed that goddamned weapon you need for your build, you dont wear the correct talismans and havent found that copycat summon yet. Yes, you can rest your stats in ER, but people tend to get super invested in their shitty builds they wont have it otherwise, and would rather go yolo mode and then complain about it online.
