Making a game takes discipline, skill, and commitment, the lack of them is what drives people to Ai in the first place.
The best a slopper can ever hope to achieve is a vibe"""coded""" renpyslop VN, which there are trillions of already and nobody will ever touch.

That's a normal practice for 3D modeling since invention of normal maps. Snake's source face model in MGS4 had 500k polygons, before retopology and normal maps.

The argument that games these days take forever to make because they have to make highly detailed models is ridiculous, since they already did so during the 7th gen.

AI based retopology might be the best AI tool to use in gaming, since it requires people to make 3D models in the first place, and this just makes entire process way faster.

Devs already got extremely lazy with retopology because of Nanite, so GPU does that in real time, wasting resources.

I have nothing against them but I just wouldn't use AI, I've been following several projects and I still see new ones pop out and it's mostly doing things as fast as they can with the least effort possible, cool I guess but not for me, I'm not making games to flood the market, I'm doing it to learn more about the artform, the process, I always enjoyed dissecting games and trying to figure out how they were made, it fascinated me, I may never relase anything but figuring out stuff makes me happy.

The true secret to game development is having money. Even AI cant compete. If you have zero skills beyond the ability to make a design document to follow and the ability to manage others, you just need cash and you can make anything you want. You dont even need to be rich, just kickstart something.
