ITT: Games that killed their respective franchises
>>733718605Nah, it was the modern audience reboot.
>>733718605I have saints row 2 and 3 and Gat out of hell and i have only played 2.
>>733718605
>>733718605The last one killed the entire company.
I saw ads for this game all over maxim and penthouse (don't ask why) in the early 2010s so I bought it. What a dog shit game I even recently replayed it and it was so stupid. Never played 1 or 2 though
>>733718605Nu Saints row and Saints row 3 killed the franchise
3 might've gone too far with the lol so random humour in some places, but 4 was supposed to be the final game. The reboot was a huge money sink for an audience that doesn't exist. The company dying due to "if you don't like it, don't buy it" gave me a chuckle.
>>733721981>>733722351>>733718605>3/4 I'm noticing a pattern...
monhun world
Pain.
>>733722664The original and its sequel are easy. The first one is a gamble that payed off, and the sequel is the game they wanted to make once they got the budget. After that it's just money chasing more money, with budgets adjusting based on whether they think more money will get a higher return or slashing funding because fans keep paying for slop with a brand name.
