What's the first JRPG you played? Did you rike it?
>>
Lunar silver star or secret of mana whichever was first. Loved both

Bravely Default (played the demo and loved it) and it was... okay. Looking back, I loved it, but it's just okay. Made me love job systems and build-your-own-team things though, so FF3 and 5 and Xenoblade 2 and 3 were right up my alley
>>
my first jrpg is ff8 and squall is literally me

t. cloud strife

Pokémon Red - I didn't really liked it, only liked to see the Pokémon from the anime and evolve them to show my classmates and friends.
Pokemon Yellow - Same, only enjoyed it because of the anime. The game itself was ugly as fuck, slow as molasses and boring, although better than R&B
Pokémon Silver - Day and Night was cool I guess, and fighting agains Red was a nice post-game.
Golden Sun - It was great
Tales of Symphonia - It was great
Final Fantasy IV - It was great
Maybe I should've never played Pokémon
>>
mine was final fantasy legend 2
>>

It was unironically FF8. It got me into RPGs. Before that, I was a "Sega kid" so I only played action/arcadey games.
>>
technically phantasy star iv even though I was too young to understand anything
>>
>>733722213
Dragon Quest VIII, it was a fun enough, the brittish took time to get used to. I liked the FFxii demo enough to beg my father to buy me it when it released. I would go on to finish FFXII, have yet finish DQVIII to this day.

Either Final Fantasy 1 or Dragon Warrior, I forget which. I enjoyed both of them, in part because I sucked shit at games and they were relatively easy.
>>
>>733722213
I don't remember which one was the first, but my hatred for "4 niggas in a row" combat was instantaneous and hasn't ceased
>>
Paladin's Quest on the SNES when i was 12 or 13. It was great and farmed to be level 99 which took forever with the limited gaming time i was allowed.

this on the ds as a child. it was good.

I think FF5. I rented it from a local video store when I was a wee child and too young to actually understand what was going on. The first JRPG I got and beat was FF7.
>>
>>733722213
FF6
My hate for the genre began (I finished it a few months later)
>>

Digimon World 2003
Yes I have fond memories of it
>>
Chrono Trigger. Yes.
>>
Final Fantasy IV.
I thought it was an odd game, being used to only action titles. But soon enough found it neat, once I got the hang of it.

The first JRPG I've actually completed was Tales of Berseria. I loved it, and it was the game that really got me into the genre.
The first JRPG I've just played was Final Fantasy X that I played on my friend's PS2. Loved the graphics, but didn't have the chance to properly engage with anything beyond the tutorial. Properly played it the last year, found it decent but far from perfect.
And the first JRPG-style game ("four niggas in a row") is somewhat unexpected - it was a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Java game for a mobile phone. It was clunky as hell, but it was my second favorite phone game (after the Red Alert port).

breath of fire 2.
still my favorite jrpg

This one. Pretty good game.

It was Grandia. I did not understand what a JRPG was so I truly believed it was an epic adventure spanning multiple continents and an overarching stories that is split into tiny regional stories while the main character walks from place to place and be a literal adventurer. I was so emotionally invested into this game that I stopped playing JRPGs after finishing it due to me being a dumb kid and being unable to properly "bid goodbye" to a game to start another game.

it was shining force i think
i riked it a rot
>>
>>733722213
Lufia, yeah I did, replaying after like 30 years I think it has its charm
>>733723113
radical, I wish I could have played it as a kid
>>
my first jrpg was dragon quest xi S on my switch as I used to think jrpgs were for weebfags. I really enjoyed it and have since played Persona 3-5 and many other jarpigs as I find myself enjoying the genre
I'm now a weebfaggot

FF Mystic Quest.
Yes i love it, it does many innovative things that have still never been attempted by other games, and it has outstanding music.

>>733722374
Secret of Mana was one of my earliest ones too.

>Paladin's Quest
Nice.
