I think Yoko taro has a good sense for how to make interesting settings but he's not a great character writer, the only thing I remember about any of them is the character design. He might be able to rely on Khara to bring the aesthetics while Okabe makes a 10/10 soundtrack, at that point it's hard to screw up completely. I think he and anno would actually complement each other because anno is a better character than scenario writer, his settings devolve into convoluted anime bullshit

Anno and taro are the same kind of person, taro is actually the perfect person to inherit Eva. The only issue is he's not an anime guy, he's better as a videogame writer and co director where the standards are a bit lower but the limits on the medium are wider. This feels like giving kojima a matrix or ghost in the shell movie, it kind of fits but it's going to be a bit shit because the medium doesn't allow for what makes his ideas special.
