Even though the game doesn't have very deep gameplay, the final experience is quite unique, and there's that feeling that you're experiencing something new instead of the thousandth iteration of Doom/Quake/Half Life, etc.
People call this guro but they have no clue what guro is. The games by Blue Mad Diode or games in the Demonophobia series are what guro is, things with a focus on the death and mutilation with long drawn out scenes.
