>played this twice>got sick (flu or something) during both playthroughsI can only assume the monitor becomes a Dimensional Violator, letting through whatever spider-shaped germs the setting has. It is an experience to play it while building up a fever though
>>733730887i fucking hate this guy
>>733730926>t. dog
>>733730647When you guys were posting about this game so much I didn't think it was actually that good but I was wrong, great game
>dev has been radio silent for years now bros...
ITT shills
>>733730647I completed this game in around 10 hours on my first playthrough, but it wound up feeling like more of an adventure than some 100+ hour RPGs I've played. Any other games like it out or coming out?
>>733731293>we may never get deranged eurojank kino from him againIt hurts, NJ was so good. It managed to capture the 3D Metroidvania feel better than most AAA games.
>>733731419The Axis Unseen was quite similar. Less direct story and different flavor of jank, but you're an archer in a fucked up hinterland trying to not let el chupacabra eat your butthole
>>733731419Figure you've already played Journey? It, along with stuff you randomly find while delving like itch.io or something, were the two things that came to mind.
>living, breathing spiders
I played this game, and to this day I still can't tell if everyone is ironically posting about how they like it, or if they're actual retards
>>733731293Wasn't he working on another game similar in style but with some gunplay added? Don't know how long ago that was. Also has anyone played through multiple times? I loved it but wonder if it would hold up in multiple playthroughs once some of the mystery/adventure is gone.
>man loses his car keys>then proceeds to try and drown a random stranger by sinking their little boat just to get help looking for them>what a dick>dude then claims local retard stole his car keys>sends player all over the place looking for local retard>dude can't even be fucked to help, sends pet wolves with paper notes to player to tell them to hurry the fuck up>don't go in the pond>DON'T GO IN THE POND>local retard in an autistic fit runs across all known creation looking for his trousers which is where he claims he left the car keys>resident finns are useless like irl finns>player follows>kill so, so many spiders>"lmao I threw my trousers at the top of mt everest fucker!">player finds said trousers and car keys>local retarded CHIMPS THE FUCK OUT>bends time and space in his autistic rage>player has to follow this screeching retard>stops off to attend a rave>then slaps the fuck out of said retard>barely get any thanks from dude when you hand him his keys backthis is some shit
>>733731732The moment he said that, I knew for certain that there would be undead spiders.

>>733731419I've heard comparisons to INFRA a few times, also Unreal. I think what sells the feeling of adventure is that it's a continuous unbroken journey, and it's constantly throwing new things at the player, lots of one-off mechanics and cool setpieces. it just feels like you're taking a ride through the author's imagination, I guess also consider King's Field IV, Shadow Tower: Abyss, Zeno Clash maybe, haven't played it but Metal Garden. maybe EYE, Thief or Rune idk man I'm looking for similar games too >>733731742it's a cool and interesting game that's more than the sum of its parts, there's nothing to be ironic abouteven mechanically it has some interest with how all of its ranged weapons are projectiles, which makes everything feel more grounded and naturalist, for want of a better word. flinging rocks and hearing that satisfying crack as it smashes a spider is endlessly enjoyable
>>733732012SPIDERS SPIDER SPIDERSWE GOT SMALL SPIDERS, BIG SPIDERSTREE SPIDERS, TROLL SPIDERSIF YOU CAN FIND ANOTHER SPIDER - FUCK IT
>>733731808Last update was 3 years ago now, from what I remember it was a more high fantasy setting with you as some girl that has some cursed sword or something, looks cool.https://youtu.be/ctflBIU3A7o
>>733732063>picWhy does nobody know how to hide the HUD in this game for screenshots? There is a dedicated keybind for it.
>>733730647This game is such vapid crap, anyone who praises this is a literal retard. It's somehow a worse version of serious Sam but with collect 15 bear asses quests. Only nu/v/ could praise garbage like this
>>733732021For me, it'shttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FjqCtwPZk8I
>>733732194No idea where I got the gun from then, can't believe that was 3 years ago. Hope he's doing well and making progress.
>>733731742I never played and never will, it's just not for me, but I highly recommend the devlog on YouTube. It's pure fucking sovl.
>>733732218>he got filtered at the shield questStay bad + mad
This game was pretty fucking great. The last few levels were not that good, but otherwise kino.
I still haven't quite found a game like this. And no, I don't want some Japslop. I want a game made by a blond hair blue eye NORD.
>>733732216I made the cinegrid after I lost all my screenshots so I had to use a mix of my old ones I could find in the /v/ archives and steam store imageshere, removed the HUD after 5,000 hours in photoshop >>733732231WEEEEEEEE GAAAAAAA YOUUUUUUUUU
mountain kite controls were dogshit and almost filtered me
>>733732012Same, though I didn't anticipate the underwater spiders too
>>733732865>blondewho?
>>733732063>that it's a continuous unbroken journey, and it's constantly throwing new things at the playerThis is definitely a large part for it. The rest for me was his work on environments, they are very familiar for anyone living in the Nordics but he managed to tap into those supernatural versions of them that we experience as kids. The Forest Path in particular was like stepping into one of grandparent's paintings.
>>733730647I wish there were more games with scary elements without being outright horror. This game fucks.
>>733733664Worst hide-and-seek player ever.
>played this twice>got sick(month+ long stays at a hospital) both playthroughsFinal doomer is such a sick wad though.
>>733734175>.gif nice try
>>733734407
Love this game, it tapped something in me I thought I lost or outgrown.
This is the kind of game that makes me wish I could play it for the first time again. Entering greenslit and granite gash for the first time with that music is so kino.
>>733731419Did you play Dusk?It had a similar mix of whimsy, goofyness and shit getting legit atmospheric in a way that surprises you from time to time. Recommended.
Definitely not on the same level, but for people looking for first person actiony adventure games, I just finished Verho curse of faces recently and had a good time. It's very clearly a kings field/dark souls inspired game but it has a good atmosphere and interesting lore, and while the graphics aren't nearly as pretty to look at it had some cool environments to explore and great music.
>>733730647HYPER REALISTIC GIANT SPIDERS
>>733737898That one's been on my shortlist to pick up. I went with Dread Delusion instead and had a great time, glad to hear Verho is also worth playing.
>>733738423Dread delusion was fantastic, only disappointing part was how easy all the combat was. I think it's better then Verho, but they are trying to do different things so it's not a fair comparison. Verho was enjoyable and I recommend it, but dread delusion I feel was on a different level at least as far as the writing is concerned. Verho is more about the combat and exploring "levels" dark souls style, and it had an interesting setting but not nearly as cool as dread delusion. Which is not to say it's not worth playing, but you just reminded me how much I loved that game.Anyway, play Verho when you can, it's good.
>>733736236I have not, but I'll give it a try! I've heard a lot of praise for it.
>dev goes out into the woods to sling rocks at shit for research I bet he can kill a man at 100 paces these days.
