The rest of the world outside America already recovered from the Great War and they have a good time laughing at the Yanks who are still living in a radioactive shithole.

Nuka world is a fun DLC and is only hated because it came after Far Harbor, which knocked it out of the park
Nuka world would've been much more positively received if it came out after Far Harbor

the assaultron eroge is more interesting than 4

The problem with Nuka World isn't that Nuka World is bad, it's that it's not really compatible with the main game. Nate/Nora going Raider fucks over the main story and vice versa.

Far Harbor is not a good DLC in any way and the hype it gets from retards who say the classic NPC line of "Fallout 4 sucks b-but Far Harbor is actually really good!" is manufactured.

I played 1000 hours of Fallout 4, unmodded, and had fun.
Dropped 3 and NV halfway through, and 76 after 40 hours.

>>733733017
Fallout 1 and 2 are way fucking overrated.
They're balanced like shit, have way less depth then you'd think, control like ass, and wouldn't be popular if it weren't for Fallout 3 making the series mainstream.
Also everyone who says they love 1 and 2 who didn't grow up playing CRPGs in the 1990s is a liar

New Vegas is not a worthy sequel to Fallout 1 and 2 and is only a step above Bethesda in terms of writing.
>>
>>733736368
You know what I think I actually agree.
The underwritten nature of MZ is a lot more tolerable than the overwrittenness of OWB.
It doesn't help that I don't care for Sci-fi.
The jokes in OWB frequently don't land. Maybe they did back in 2011 or whenever it came out. I think that was before Rick and Morty, so the schtick hadn't gotten old yet.

Also I hate how it's entirely a combat DLC. FNV's dlcs irk me because like none of them, barring Honest Hearts, play into the strengths of Fallout New Vegas.
NV is beloved because of its realistic worldbuilding and focus on questing rather than dungeons or combat. And most of its DLCs are mainly dungeons and combat without any questing nor realistic worldbuilding.
>>
>>733737076
that's why its a spin off in the name

parts of 3 and almost the entirety of 4 are bastardizations because of the naming and degrading of the series

What was your favorite choice in Fallout 3?
Agatha's song you could sell the quest item to someone else.
Nuka-Cola challenge, you can sell the quest item to someone else
>>
>>733733486
If you actually count the quests in this image, New Vegas only has 7 more than FO3, it's just that the names are way longer. For instance
Hired Help vs. You'll Know It When It Happens/Arizona Killer
Slave Hunt vs. A Hound Dog, A Shoe Shiner, A Periwinkle, And An Elephant
>>
>>733733017
Looking at Far Harbor I think the game could've had a lot of perk and special checks, even with the voiced protagonist. It was always gonna be a burden on role playing but I think the quests which do go out of their way to include those checks in dialogue and world interactions show what Fallout 4 could've been.
>>
>>733737291
>What was your favorite choice in Fallout 3?
Well it has to be Oasis.
It's a simple quest, but it's a really interesting moral question. Especially unique in Fallout 3 since that's a game about black and white morality, where it typically doesn't get that muddled.

I also really like how in Head of State not only can you side with both factions, but you can betray them as well.
So if you don't want to kill the slavers you can let the supermutants they immediately fight do so.
Same with the Replicated Man, it's really fun to get both rewards there.

Tranquility Lane is great. Probably the best part of any Fallout main questline.
There are more, but those are my favorites
>>
>>733733017
People get the order of DLC of Fallout New vegas completely wrong. The most logical order is clearly
1. Lonesome road 2.Honest Hearts .3Old World Blues .4Dead Money
People always insist to do LR last because muh ending but you literally get a broadcast mentioning you. The other 3 broadcasts could be nothing noteworthy for all you know so why go there.
>>
>>733737435
b8
There are 16 marked sidequests in Fallout 3, there are 28 marked sidequests just tied to the NCR in New Vegas.

Granted this is just a focus thing.
Fallout 3 is a smaller game which focuses way more on dungeons and exploration, whereas New Vegas focuses as quests as really the only meat and potatoes of the gameplay
>>
>>733737672
You're a retarded nigger. All other DLCs build up to Lonesome Road. Old World Blues says at the end
>Only one road yet remained, and it was one the Courier had to walk alone.
This doesn't make sense if you've already done Lonesome Road. Fuck off fpsfag.

Honest Hearts ASAP to get the rifle and armor you'll use for the rest of the game
then Old World Blues
then Lonesome Road
and Dead Money never ever

Fallout 1 has nothing going for it outside of its worldbuilding (which later entries did better anyway)
>Combat is very briefly hard then becomes trivial
>Most skills are useless
>Most perks are useless
>You can do quests in a bunch of ways but it always comes back to the obviously good ending of the obviously evil ending
>Main "story" is just destroying the evil orc army with no development, twists, or intrigue
>Every ending is undermined because half of them just don't exist or don't function
>No character has more than a page of writing, they all fall completely flat
>>
>>733738739
Sure the mutants are essentially an orc army, but the Master is such a great villain that it elevates them into seeming more interesting than they are.
Fallout 1 is really cool. Very atmospheric, very creative. But there's a reason why anyone who actually played those games in the 1990s prefers 2. 2 just provides far more of a game than 1 does.
>>
The TV show was very good

>>733739782

>>
>>733733486
even without an explicit NV comparison, Fo3 really doesn't have that many quests.
When reinstalled Fo3 a couple years ago, I was floored at how few quests there were even if there were quite a few non-quest NPC interactions like a lot of the shit in Rivet City.
>>
making a TV show an official followup to a CRPG is just an objectively bad decision

Fallout 4 has become a victim of revisionist history and was really fun during the mid 2010’s and the first couple of years after release was universally praised
>>
>>733743074
Fallout 4 is for retards that drool while building lame settlements. It's not for the thinking man.
>>
>>733742825
you have the fake-ass bounty hunter guilds you can join if you take a random perk, if that counts.
>>
>>733734132
They needed to add another ending where raider faction of your choice take over the institute and you kill Preston in post game as an optional side quest. Same for Far Harbor, pick your faction to destroy the institute.

Fallout 4 have terrible DLC integration in the vanilla game unlike Skyrim.
>>
>>733738435
>we must be better wastelanders
>>
>>733737672
You know..I can see this rationale if you're playing from the perspective of meeting Ulysses and then discovering everything that lead up to this point, culminating in a showdown with Elijah who escaped Big MT and didn't listen to the words of Ulysses about not going to the Madre. Elijah being the final antagonist of the DLC driven by his obsession with the past also kinda mirrors Elijahs. Both are insane from their own personal tragedies too, and want to destroy the Old World with weapons of that era.
>>
>>733743195
>it’s not for the thinking man
>coming from the 80 iq tard who doesn’t even have any creativity to build a single settlement
got me there
>>
>>733733017
Fallout 4 is the best one.
>>
The Fallout tv show is a grandiose clusterfuck with way too much going on and can't be taken seriously, you might say it's "so bad it's good," and therefore it is the most faithful, loving, and best video game adaptation ever made
>>
the show is decent for what it is and gets a lot of unwarranted hate.
it's only 8 hours of runtime per season. the viewers don't exactly have 100 hours to get exposition dumps from dozens of NPCs. also the world has to start simple and grow more complex during the show, you can't just dump centuries of fictional history on an unsuspecting audience.
so the franchise was pretty much soft rebooted. the old games are quasi-canon like GTA SA to GTA V. that invalidates all lore and tone concerns and fans should be happy they're getting returning factions and easter eggs at all.
as for the writing and worldbuilding, yeah they are kinda shit, but they're obviously not the priority. this is just an action comedy series meant to introduce millions of new people interested in the franchise and it does a great job at that. who complained about bad writing and worldbuilding in the Minecraft movie?
>>
