but we recommend each other games based on our tastes
to that guy that recommended Mirage Feathers, its pretty fun but holy crap why is there so much story and why cant I skip it? unskippable story should be outlawed also im not huge on the loli aesthetic, im more into voluptuous women but other than that its good
actually ignore this thread theres already one up
Behold.
if there is another thread up it's 3stealthy5melast thread died before I could post, so in case those same anons are here>>733708149>CrosscodePipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo>>733711770>Nioh 2>SoP>SekiroThe First Berserker: Khazan>>733717763>Nine Sols>Hollow KnightPrince of Persia: The Lost Crown>>733734580Resonance of FateI felt the urge to recommend Valkyrie Profile 2 before I looked at the bottom row.>>733733256The World Ends With You
>>733735195You'd like Falcom games, especially the Trails series.
>>733735242>The World Ends With Youi do really need to play that. id recomend kotoma and the academy citadel
>>733734580>>733735757It's nice to see some love for FF XIII won't post mine. I'm that phaghot who uploads physical games in threads.
I've been replaying Tactics Advance again recently, even though i really like the game, i tend to get burnt out on it pretty quickly because i am autistic and treat it more like a spreadsheet than a game sometimes.....
1/2
>>733737569And 2/2. Liking E33 so far, even though I don't usually like turn-based "combat" games. The real-time elements like doing perfect attacks and dodging scratch the itch.
>>733733256
>>733737720>Drakengard 3Based and masochistpilled. Somehow, I made that my first platinum.
Need a new fun game plz
>>733738198Katamari Damacy.
>>733738198>3D platformer collectathon + Wind WakerDemon Tides
>>733736925super mystery dungeon, triangle strategy, digimon time stranger
>>733738198xenoblade chronicles x
This are the games that left a long last impression on me.Recommend me something fun.
>>733744208Resonance of Fate. Brutal game but it's ridiculously satisfying once you git gud at the combat.
>>733738198There's a Battletech turn-based grid strategy game with free-form mercenary company management and a campaign. It's kind of basic, but addictive. A little bit like the Front Mission games. Front Mission is another option, since you seem to be a mech/strategy fan with slightly Eastern preferences.
Why white 2 and not black 2
>>733744208A part of me wants to recommend Sunless Seas to you, but it's such a dogshit game, really just terrible 'gameplay'. But it has some of the best writing, and at times, atmosphere of any game I've ever played. Planescape: Torment might also be a good pick if you're thirsty for a good story, but it's also tough to play through, even for a CRPG.
>>733745791https://youtu.be/aUG1tn12vxo
>>733745791no specific reason, thats just the version I had, as a legendary I do actually like kyurem black more though
>>733745203i hope the name isn't whatever the fuck that filename is
>>733733256Postan again, but honestly, I don't think my taste is wide or has enough variety. I've only gotten my PC since last July, (since gotten rid of my Xbox), and I've played tens upon hundreds of games since then, but I feel like I'm missing out. Thinking about installing a few more emulators for PSP, Dreamcast, SNES, NES, 3DS and DS. Maybe one for Nintendo 64, and the OG Xbox. Buying a few old games like Return to Castle Wolfenstein tomorrow. It's just not enough. Also MadWorld is seriously one of the best Wii games, you should emulate it. Installing Geist and Red Steel 2.
bump
>>733737569>>733737681>Summer Carnival ReccaDamn, nice. How far have you got into that game? It's fun, but pretty crazy. Very impressive they could run something like that on the NES.Have you tried GRAND CROSS: ReNOVATION or the Graze Counter games? Grand Cross is technically very easy to complete, but you get your largest score bonus when firing the sunlaser constantly and that results in you being one-hit from death. And Graze Counter GM, from what I played in the demo, was really well done despite the pixel look making it seem like more a minor indie title. Also, I didn't realize it was the same developer for both games until I looked into them on Steam.
I get the feeling that playing so many shmups lately will make replaying W101 a worse experience than before I knew what a good shmup is like.>>733733256Play the Spark The Electric Jester trilogy and Transformers Devastation>>733734580Play Sword of the Sea>>733735195Play Dino Crisis 2 if you haven't. Also unironically give SF6's World Tour mode a try.>>733735242I was really into Frontiers when it was new but a lot of its issues have become more apparent with time. I think Shadow Gens is a much better version of the formula just on a smaller scale.>>733735757Play Aces Wild, came to mind seeing Odin Sphere and ZOE side by side.>>733737569I've been playing a lot more shmups lately (I'm not 1ccing things but I'm improving), I should probably give Twinkle Star Sprites a more serious look. Anyway play the Lumines series and Tetrachroma.>>733737681Recca's on my list to try but I think I'll build up to it among Famicom shmups and try something like GunNac or Terra Cresta first.>>733744208You'll definitely enjoy P5 Strikers if you haven't played it.
>>733750170>Play the Spark The Electric Jester trilogyyou know ive been wanting to play that but I haven't because I don't really play on pc but i have a steam deck now, are all 3 worth playing?have you played Namco × Capcom?
>>733737569Digimon Rumble Arena
>>733733256I'm on a Wipeout kick, and you'd probably like some of the Wipeout games for their slick and fresh aesthetic. >>733734580>SotC and IcoPlay Sky: Children of the LightAlternatively play Journey if you haven't played it alreadyCurrently replaying SotC myself.>>733735195Check out a demo for a game called 500 Caliber Contractz>>733735757Play Final Fantasy X-2>>733736925Going to also recommend yuo play 500 Caliber Contractz>>733737720Sin and Punishment and/or its sequel>>733738198>fun gameAlso gonna recommend u Wipeout. They're racing games so start anywhere.>>733750170I guess I'm just recommending everybody Wipeout.
>>733750170>Shadow GensI'll probably agree when I get to it. That's the last well-received Sonic game on my to-do list.I have a number of issues with Frontiers, but the good outweighs the bad for me. At the very least it's the most fun I've had with 3D Sonic since Adventure 2.
>>733744208I'm gunna keep it double underscore 100 with you, I would not describe a single game on your chart as fun
>>733750324>you know ive been wanting to play that but I haven't because I don't really play on pc but i have a steam deck now, are all 3 worth playing?I'd say so, though if you want to save you can just get 1&3 since 2's levels were patched into 3 if you're fine with playing them outside their mechanical and plot contexts. 1 is basically 50% Sonic Advance, 25% Kirby & 25% Mega Man Zero which is why it's my personal favorite, but 2 & 3 are more Sonic Adventure style with some combat and lessening the focus on the Kirby-style abilities with each game. 3's combat leaves something to be desired when you're focusing on it for more than a few seconds at a time but the platforming part is great.>have you played Namco × Capcom? It's a slog and so is PXZ1, but NxC especially so since that game is over 100 hours long and paced like shit. PXZ2 paces itself a bit better and just has a ton of great changes to the Tactics and Combo systems to keep it engaging through the end and through NG+/Challenge maps.
>>733751153Isn't Wipeout kind of, I dunno, bad? Because I played a fair bit of it and it just controls objectively worse than f-zero, even the snes game, and neither series has good track design.
>>733751351I've not played a lot of F-Zero, but in my experience Wipeout extremely punishing, and it's about practice and situational awareness. So I'm gonna tell you to git gudBut also Wipeout Pure, the one on my grid, has the most forgiving controls. Maybe not my favorite gameplay in the series, that might go to the Omega Collection, but I love the way Pure looks and I liked every track.
>>733751720>So I'm gonna tell you to git gudAnon I am absolutely certain you have never gotten good at even a single video game in your life if you think Wipeout is about "situational awareness" and have no idea what it means to git gud
>>733751805Wipeout is absolutely about situational awareness. Boosts and item pads can bait you and fuck up your racing line. Sometimes it's a good decision to use a weapon, and other times it'll cause other racers to crash into you. If you think Wipeout is a bad racing game, you probably just suck.
>>733734580Nice taste. What is top left top right and mid right?Have you tried XCX? The world exploration is pretty nice. Also wtf are these captchas
>>733752012Anon, you think podracer is a good racing game. I don't think you're in a position to be making judgements about anything.
>>733752367First of all, it is. Second of all, this thread is about favorites, not "this is what I objectively think is the best".Played a lot of Racer Revenge with my friends and have a lot of good memories with it. Sorry you spent so much time with Wipeout and didn't learn how to play it.
>>733752087>Nice tasteamazing even
>>733752468These have been some of the least intelligent posts I have read all day and it's crazy that someone would come in here expecting good recommendations when no one in here is actually playing anything.

>>733749806>How far have you got into that game?Only stage 3 boss, shit's hard. But fun enough to keep you coming back, and yeah, it's a technical marvel that pushed the NES to its limits.I have Graze Counter on Steam, I've put a couple hours into it. Scratches the itch for the "shmup where you do something with bullets other than just avoid them" feel, like Psyvariar or Mars Matrix. Graze Counter's dev certainly did their homework.>>733750170>I'll build up to it among Famicom shmups and try something like GunNac or Terra Cresta first. You should play Zanac.>Anyway play the Lumines series and TetrachromaAlready a big fan of Lumines. I feel like it's slept on too much.>>733744208>Book of HoursHave you tried the other Failbetter games? They're all very good, in my opinion, especially the OG Fallen London, though it can take some work to get into.>>733733256I feel like you might appreciate Into the Breach, it's a great replayable tactics puzzler. >>733735242Have you tried Neon White yet? Though they're very different games, it scratches the same itch for me as Demon Tides, among other reasons to recommend it.>>733737569I'm gonna say UFO 50 might be your jam. Just pretend I replied to every chart here with the words "this is slop." Going to specifics is 10000x more than this thread deserves. In fact, this post probably isn't worth the effort.
>>733764636>mata nui: the online gameQuite good, that one.
Yo can someone itt explain to me the gamer culture obsession with difficulty?I completely understand the feeling of joy you get from overcoming a tough challenge in a game.I also understand the appeal of a relaxed experience. What I don't get is this idea that "true gamers" only play hard games. There is some sense in which videogames are toys for soothing fractious infants. That you're burning your life away when you play them. So am I supposed to be impressed that you malded and tore your hair out playing Elden Ring? Or spent 1000 hours sweating in Escape from Tarkov or something?Sometimes, to me, it seems like when you're proud of experiencing simulated difficulty with your adult baby gamer toys, you might as well be bragging about how many rocks you've smashed into your cock. Am I supposed to be impressed with you? Am I supposed to impress you with how much I strained myself to experience leisure?
>>733766546Imagine someone listening to music. They blast speed metal into their ears as loud as they can because they believe music is meant to be as aggressive as possible. They probably wouldn't like Roxanne.Games are the same way. Some people feel that interacting with a game involves overcoming challenges. Those people would see Animal Crossing and just go do something else.
>>733765514just curious: what is the SLOPPIEST slop in the thread?
