Which masterpiece do you prefer?
>>733733643is there a way to play ico and the ps2 version of sotc on ps5?
>>733733760You can't play the PS2 version of those games on PS5.You can supposedly stream the PS3 ports on PS5 with the Playstation Now, but I have never used that service before so I don't know the specifics. The PS3 ports are fine to play, not 1 to 1 visuals, but not any awful glaring issues.
SotC is far better, no question about it. The combat in Ico is horrible, and none of the puzzles are particularly great. Ico is entirely carried by the atmosphere.
I've given Ico many chances and it never clicks. SOTC on the other hand is amazing.>>733733643Time attack hard mode is actually very buggy and unbalanced because of how they messed with physics in the ps3 remaster. Doubt most people would even bother with that game mode but it is a thing.
>>733733643They're both pure dogshit, like let's be real here.
>>733733643it's absurd i have to specify but the og ps2 version of SOTC is a godtier game. the gauzy washed out visuals were perfect, the sort of fiddly og tomb raider style controls provided the perfect amount of friction. as an exercise in design by subtraction, it took zelda OoT and turned it into a weird impressionistic tone poem that still felt challenging and mysterious.it's a shame what was done to the game in subsequent gens and the shuttering of bluepoint doesn't come anywhere close to making up for denying the majority of gamers access to the original experience
>>733734581if they were pure dogshit they wouldn't have good art design. use your words more carefully.
>>733733643Still the best games of their generation. SotC is a masterpiece in every way, I love Ico but the skill expression in sotc is so good.
>>733733643The camera/control issues on Ico always had me dropping it frustrated every time I tried it again and again, and that frustration is still 100% there in SOTC but it has a much stronger initial hook with its opening cutscene and first colossus. Plus the game essentially justifies the tank controls with the fact that you are a tiny boy wandering around on a horse, climbing giant goliaths, makes it more engaging then basic puzzles and trying to keep an NPC alive
