You can kill countless slimes and think absolutely nothing of it, but if that one friendly slime from the start of the game gets beaten to death while you're forced to watch, you might feel a twinge of something. Maybe for rating, maybe because it would be too distracting from the main story elements. I dunno. I personally don't think it's so sacrosanct that it's impossible for rape to exist in a work without eclipsing everything else, but who am I to decide?
