Honestly, I feel like Star Fox is kind of a braindead game. As long as you keep moving and don't run into walls, you won't get hit. Keep doing that while spamming Shoot in any direction and you eventually win.
I CANT STOP IT
>>733744127its fun I feel like nintendo should make low budget starfox games and just sell them for like 20-40 no need for crazy graphics or gimmicks or anything
FATHER!?!?
>>733744384I have trouble doing a barrel roll
>>733744384Stupid ass statement because the goal of a game like Star Fox 64 is not for you to simply win, it's to replay it and get better scores. What you're looking for is the term "low skill floor". Star Fox has a low skill floor, meaning a low barrier of entry to perform okay. You can finish the game by just being rudimentarily good at shooting, and by spamming rolls and not flying into walls. But if you actually want to do things like take harder paths, or earn medals, etc. the games asks you to have a higher level of skill and precision.
>>733744127What's so hard about making something similar? Unless Nintendo is just rather sour about how the American VAwork was a big part of what made the game so memorable.
>>733744384This is why I prefer the level design of the original compared to 64, there's more sections where it's trickier to dodge obstacles. That and the all range sections in 64 are kinda ass.
>>733744605It just couldn't be done today. The audio is a huge part of Star Fox 64. The way the sound compression and recorded voices sounded were a product of 1997. Anything made today would be so clean and over-produced that it would be soulless. Never mind the gameplay; they are incapable of making a straightforward rail-shooter with branching paths. It would end up being a live service deck building roguelike or something retarded like that. Games like that just cannot be made anymore.

>>733744127Great game at the time. The entire genre is obsolete indyshitter bait for those either too stupid or too lazy to make actual 3D flight and enemy AI now.
>>733745713>The entire genre is obsolete indyshitter bait for those either too stupid or too lazyThat's metroidvania.
The one good game in what is otherwise Nintendo's weakest long-running franchise.
