>cheat in max character level, stats, and weapons

what the fuck is the appeal of this game

Role playing being a shitstain incel in 1370

While you were typing “player.setav…” they were studying the blade.

Because STOP! YOU VIOLATED THE LAW! PAY THE COURT A FINE OR SERVE YOUR SENTENCE! YOUR STOLEN GOODS ARE NOW FORFEIT.

Whats the point of having a jail mechanic if the player is just going to genocide entire cities instead of going to it
>>
>>733748228
outsmarted me with shitty level scaling that never makes you feel like you progress your strength in the game

Skill issue, also you cheated like a faggot, get rekt homo.

>what the fuck is the appeal of this game
nostalgia
it's worse than both its predecessor and successor, a rare thing in video games
>>
>>733748305
It’s great that they let you sneak a pick in to try and escape

Some jails even have specific routes for escape

Morrowind has the same issue, Skyrim is pretty bad too but slightly less noticeable
>>
>>733748549
>Morrowind has the same issue
a high level character needing to hit 100 times to kill enemies? no, not even MW's detractors would make that claim, assuming they have any concept of how hit chance works
skyrim is the one with that issue but it's easily mitigated with crafting
>>
>>733748065
what's going to be the easiest way to mod, oblivion mod manager or mod organizer 2?
>>
>>733748759
It might be hit chance i was thinking of instead, making the game extremely unfun, like ES2
>>
>>733748065
I didn't realize how much Skyrim improved dungeons until I replayed Oblivion.
>but they're more linear
A random side room with a chest containing 42 gold doesn't make the dungeon more fun.
>>
>>733748819
Hit chance is mitigated by just leveling your weapons skills, no?
>>
>>733748065

>oblivi-tards claim it’s a good thing that every npc and enemy continually levels up so they’re exactly as strong as you are

>genuinely defend every bandit running around with full sets of glass and daedric armor as being “immersive”

Oblivion has always been the worst elder scrolls game.
>>
>>733748065
The appeal is downloading cunny mods and jerking off to the lolis getting raped or killed.
Same with Skyrim, and Fallout, and most other video games.
>>
>>733748917
Pisses me off when I clearly hit someone standing in front of them swinging my sword but it doesn't hit because a dice said no. Also pisses me off when I shoot an arrow in someone's face and it gets stuck through their cranium as they continue running towards me with 2 hp loss
>>
Just type kill in console op
>>
>>733748915
The Oblivion ones are actually better IMO except for the much more rare exit routes. I like how a lot of the ayleid ruins leave a bridge right above the entrance so if you want to leave you can just hop off it and head out, really smart design
>>
>>733748445
The gameplay is worse than both but oblivion has amazing music, cities, and quests. It's also the most nostalgic game ever made.
>>
>>733749175
To be fair it was really fucking impressive when it released, walking around that open world with 20 fps at 640x480 on a pentium 3 was an experience
>>
>>733749105
People make fun of Skyrim having an exit shortcut in every dungeon but I like the ones with a "back door" that takes you to a different spot than where you entered.

The situation was just inverted once broad level scaling was added to TES games.
MW:
>low level character has a poor chance to hit, fights are lengthy
>high level character has a near-100% chance to hit, fights end quickly
Oblivion/Skyrim:
>low level enemies have little HP and are killed quickly even by low-tier weapons, fights end quickly
>high level enemies have an enormous amount of HP and take many hits to kill, fights are lengthy
Both games have solutions to long fights but if you're new and playing vanilla, that's generally how it goes. In MW, just knowing where the right items and spells are in the world - or just building your character correctly - will solve the problem of not landing hits. In Skyrim, crafting perks make it so your weapons can be upgraded a ludicrous amount, making enemies require fewer hits. Oblivion does not have a perfect solution to this problem that isn't borderline (or literal) bug abuse. Or just don't level your character, which sounds fun.
We'll see if TES6 can take over 4's role as worst mainline game. At this point, I kind of hope it does, I have no hope for Bethesda and just want them liquidated by M$ already.
>>
>>733749367
Bethesda just can't make functioning games. It's almost been 15 years and Skyrim has been re-released 20 times and it's still buggy even in normal play
>>
>>733748065
did you assume just anyone could become an imperial city guard?
>>
>>733749105
Nta, but weren't Oblivion's dungeons just prefab rooms slapped together by some guy in like 2 weeks? In what universe are those better than Skyrim's handcrafted dungeons with environmental storytelling and stuff like word walls?
>>
>>733748938
>oblivi-tards claim it’s a good thing that every npc and enemy continually levels up so they’re exactly as strong as you are
Literally no one does this. Even the biggest oblivion fans say the way the game handles level scaling is fucking retarded

> Being outsmarted by a Bethesda game: Embarassing

>>733748065
Its because they fucked up the damage formula. At 100 strength and blade, you should be doing double the damage you end up doing with the current formula. Some autist made a good video explaining it. Im pretty sure there's a mod that fixes it.
>>
>>733748065
You did it wrong.
You aren't supposed to max your level, just your stats.
>>
>>733748065
Level-scaling, how does it work.
>>
>>733753449
It really baffles the boomers.
