I played half life 2 and barely used the gravity gun unless required. Early on I picked up an explosive barrel and it exploded in my face when I tried to throw it, and I thought the force from the gravity gun caused the explosion because I didnt see any enemies near me. So I just avoided using it.

I just played almost all of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom without realizing you could Z-target enemies and switches. Since it's a top down "2D" Zelda I didn't even think to try it and I must have missed whatever tutorial dialogue explained it. It makes monsters you summon focus on whatever you're targeting, the entire time I was just summoning things and letting them do whatever they wanted. There were so many switches I could've activated a lot more easily too but honestly I like the retarded way I brute forced a lot of them.Off topic but I'm really mad I didn't give this game a chance earlier, I'm thoroughly enjoying it and think its the 3rd best 2D Zelda game. It looked extremely unappealing to me because they advertised it like its more BotW open ended slop with how you just stack a bunch of shit and break the game but it's surprisingly not that at all it's very tightly designed, has proper structure and a lot of pretty clever puzzles. I beat Shantae and the Seven Sirens without realizing that you could buy stuff at the shops. I went the whole game without ANY spells, fireballs, scimitar, nothing. Wondered where the hell it all was, thought I might have missed something big, but nope, they're all purchases, not pickups.Why? I didn't realize that you could scroll the shop menu. The UI was kinda bad with it, the scroll bar is tiny and there's no real indication that you can scroll. I saw the 6 top items - health and mana potions iirc - and assumed that that was all they sold.

When I was a kid, I didn't know you were supposed to spin Bowser to fling him into the bombs. I would grab his tail, orient him towards one of the bombs, drop him which moves him a bit forward, grab him immediately again, rinse and repeat until he hits the bomb. I figured out during the third battle by pure accident that he was throwable (I was frustrated because I didn't know what to do so I was spinning him around for the fun of it and pressed B without expecting he would be flung away).
