People like to attribute this to Riot being bought out by Tencent but this would've happened regardless.
Asia themed skins sell, and it's in their financial best interest to follow the money.
What's most shocking is how long Riot took to make weeb skins, Lux got THREE military theme skins before making Star Guardian which finally opened the floodgates for a deluge of anime-like skins
