I just learned there's an Elden Ring movie in the works. What do you guys think about that? I don't have very high hopes after the DMC anime and the Fallout show.

>>733761221I don't see how you could do it without either ripping out all the depth and breadth of the world or making it very generic otherwise. Like the best part of Elden Ring is how much shit you have to find in the game. A 2 hour long film can't cover that. As well, the budget would be pretty incredible if it wanted to convey the fights with the scale of the game. Just doing a CGI fight scene with Morgott to a Hollywood level would be a budget buster for typical A24 projects. Even Sekiro would be hard to compress to a 2 hour film, but at least that game was small and built around a cinematic style. Elden Ring is a sprawling mass.
