After spending a little time with it, I feel like it is a bit of a mixed bag. It does have all the content and it does run stable but not as well as I would have liked.
First, you would think 30fps is useless because it doesn't look any better than 40fps BUT you only get 40fps docked if you have a 120hz tv or monitor, so your choice is either 30fps or 60fps.
Second, 60fps in handheld is a blurry mess. Docked, the textures basically look like the ps4 version, which i am total ok with for the higher frames but I wish 60fps was a better option for handheld. Stick to 40fps. 60fps was never an issue on my steam deck.
Third, there is no gyro or mouse support. I have no idea why they would be left out when skyrim has both and I believe they are the same engine.
Last, you cant change the quality modes in game so you have to exit out every time you want to change it, which is just a pain in the ass.

All in all, it's an ok port. It's definitely playable but there are better options for both on the TV or handheld.

It's Bethesda to be fair. They released a broken Switch 2 edition of Skyrim only to finally fix it two months later.

i've read the same thing elsewhere. They should've just put the older games on switch instead.

Shit game on a shit console
>>
>shit PC game looks and plays like shit on console

It crazy how black and white the quality is between Bethesda and id games on Switch.

Im hoping so. Fallout on a handheld is pretty enjoyable
>>
Works fine on my steam deck

Yeah it's not a game I want to play anymore at 30fps and I would only get this version for the handheld mode

To give you more in detail, Switch 2 edition of Skyrim had input lag with the joycon mice controls (one quick patch tried to fix it by disabling the vsync at first), 60fps wasn't supported initially and there were graphic bugs such as any water surface moving up and down. Then, Bethesda released a big patch this month and everything above has been fixed alongside of giving the option to either enable 60 or 30fps for the user's preference.

> No gyro or mouse support
The feeling of not being able to use the tech I payed for and literally hold in my hands as I play the game is quite miserable. The tech is physically there, just let me use it. This is a deal-breaker for me. All the shooters that released on PS4-PS5 without gyro support, same thing, deal-breaker.

>atlong last, now i can pay full price to play an objectively shitter version of an 11-year-old game
Why the fuck do people keep doing this?

Every game has gyro support on pc

That's the best thing about steam controller settings, you can do anything you want without the controller you have.
