The new graphics for SR Remastered are incredibly hit or miss and generally pretty bad and cartoony but its worth it to just use OG graphics with the much improved camera control. To be clear, I'd also be mad if they changed anything to appease a modern crowd, i.e. if we ever get BO2 I'll be irritated if they change Umah, but this clearly wasn't that, and it was for such an incredibly unimportant environmental object.
Recently replayed it and it still holds up nicely today with the aesthetics, style, writing, puzzles and sometimes gameplay. I can't wait to play Defiance remastered though.

I honestly felt like the Hylden were a bigger asspull than most of what's in that comic. This one race is suddenly the big bad of the whole series, and was responsible for literally every event and important artifact that's ever been mentioned. The Pillars? A lock for the Hylden. The Reaver? A weapon/key for the Hylden. Vampires? A curse by the Hylden. Raziel's prophecy? It's about the Hylden. Blood Omen 1? Set up by the Hylden. etc. etc. BO2 really fucked up the lore of the series and made it feel very small in my opinion. To be clear, SR2 was rewritten mid-development to accommodate the Hylden from BO2. Then of course Defiance focused a lot on them. The main issue I have is whatever bullshit they pulled at the end with her getting stabbed in the head by the Reaver causing a paradox and her somehow surviving as a result. None of that makes any fucking sense with the existing lore.
