I don't think I'll ever understand gambling.I did a bit of matched betting (for people who don't know, this is gambling where you literally can't lose until the bookies close your accounts), and it was just unpleasant to be nervous about the outcome of races where I would earn an extra 5 cents one way over the other, and occasionally risking later bets for better EV. Made a few grand doing it, then lost 500 bucks from a misbet. I can't imagine doing that where you are expected to lose most of the time, it's got to be pure mental illness.
