>first game: "I literally killed hundreds of drug addicts, low-life criminals and gangsters, destroyed 3 crime gangs and hunted down a man who fucked with me to slowly murder him like a dog. But I know that they all deserved it, so it's okay."
>second game: "My son, I know that you worked as a paid hitman but we will talk about it later. Now you should storm this heavily guarded building and kill the man who fucked with us, because when someone swings at you, you should swing back"
Holy based
Naughty Dog would NEVER

What? I thought you get the bad ending if you kill anyone.
>>
>>733769838
No
If you're talking about IV2 you only get a bad ending if you kill people the game openly tells you not to kill (the targets or cops in one level)
>>
IV is based and there is a third one in development.
>>
>>733769735
Too bad IV1 was very shitty, putting aside the wattpad tier story
>>
>>733769735
2 dual protagonists felt weird, I wasn't feeling it
I don't know, I felt like I had more fun with 1
Still going to play the next game if the devs are making one

Is Intravenous 1 remake and 2 worth buying, or is it better to wait for Intravenous 3 which will make some mechanical improvements then get 2 and 1 remade into 3's framework.

Why is Roman the only indie developer making real stealth games? the amount of developers to do light mechanics AND sound mechanics in a meaningful enough way is close to nill. At least if we're judging by making an enjoyable enough experience akin to Splinter Cell.
The best examples you have is some element of visibility mechanics (how seamless it's working is debatable) in games like: Neon Struct (closer to good), Transience, Gloomwood, Cloak & Dagger Shadow Operations, No Sun to Worship, Filcher, Peripeteia and Datajack.

I'm surprised most stealth games moved away from the Thief/SC like mechanics. When back in the day you had games like Chameleon in 2005 that tried to replicate it. Then in 2004 there was this weird as fuck German game called Augustus: Im Auftrag des Kaisers that was basically the German Thief game no one heard about. Yet the concept was quickly abandoned. Preferred detection model for me over line of sight. But what Roman does better than all of the indie devs was the sound propagation part.

Is Transience any good?

IV2 lets you play the campaign of IV1, though.
>>
>>733770221
WTF? Just get 2 with 1's campaign.

>>733771404
does it fix the dogshit and visually boring level design from IV1?

I only played the IV2 version, and apparently it changes things from IV1. Mainly the mechanics, which are updated to the IV2 standard. This adds a lot of things, but apparently also takes away things like loading individual bullets into magazines or some shit like that. I also noticed some weird shit. Like I would go into a house in the slums, kill a guy watching TV, then turn off the light in the room so that guys outside wouldn't notice the body.

They investigated anyway because apparently someone turning off their lights at 2 o'clock in the morning means they've just been killed instead of deciding to go to sleep.

I played both on IV2 engine (after the hey hey man shilled them) and I enjoyed them greatly, although this is more or less my favorite genre, so I'm very biased. I feel that at highest difficulty, with enemies noticing missing patrols, the game is so restricting for stealth it's almost not fun anymore.

It's decent enough but flawed. Big Fry is not going to live down talking himself up when it turns out it's actually hard to develop a video game. It's not better than Intravenous but worth playing if you're desperate for stealth-action games like i am.

Unrelated to your comment: also Cold War (2005) was another i was thinking of for Splinter Cell likes. Yet that had no visiability gauge so i don't think it was accurately tracking the light zones in a level, only just marginally doing it better compared to your averaged dumbed down ass creed game which makes it revolutionary in comparison. It had some rules but they weren't as well defined. It had some sound rules but i can't remember how deep. It really bothers me that the industry didn't just make tons of SC and Thief clones sometimes because i consider it the most ideal version of the genre.

Sounds like a big no then.
>>
>>733772091
I mean it's still better than IV1. It's not like IV1 wasn't the same, unless you can say otherwise.
>>
Intravenous 3 will be a 3d game. t. knower.

>It really bothers me that the industry didn't just make tons of SC and Thief clones sometimes because i consider it the most ideal version of the genre.
Me too. I'm hoping stuff like Gloomwood and Eternal Thievery deliver on the Thief clone side(full disclosure I haven't played either yet, not even the demo) because it could open the floodgates beyond just the occasional Dark Mod/Dark Engine fan mission.

Pretty sure killing civilians affects the ending as well. Getting the good ending kind of centers around keeping Steve happy. Steve doesn't care if you kill junkies, gangsters, and hired goons which is why it's fine to kill every last thug in a gang warehouse or an office being used as a front.

There's at least one slavjank game that I'm slightly enthusiastic about in anticipation. But it's still using my undesired model of detection equivalent to that of MGS and Hitman. It's rare to get anything anymore so i hope this one will at least feel as fun to play Hitman 2 Silent Assassin was back in the day. Surely eurojank has at least evolved by now.

Asking for Thief nowadays is too much apparently. I'd probably pay the Dark Mod developers to enter the indie scene personally.

Oh yeah, I remember death to spies. I think what I played was a sequel called Death to Spies redemption, it was an okay Hitman clone from what I recall.
I vaguely remember a sequel to that as well, or a spiritual sequel, called Alka-something's Gun I think. Was very poorly received and I thought that was it for the series.
>>
>>733773405
Alekhine's Gun was very hit or miss
>>
>>733773405
The second in the series is the best one: Moment of Truth. Alekhine's Gun gun was just meh. Better than the first perhaps because the jank was too strong. But never really excelled at anything either. I'm hoping at least they can make something that was fun to play like Moment of Truth was, which is absolutely worth revisiting. A mediocre clone that is actually fun to play. In comparison to other more mediocre Hitman clones like Lucius II then it probably looks like a masterwork in 'artistry', but only in such an extreme comparison. I don't think Hitman ever gained any competent competitors but it's good to be reminded of how i was actually once catered to as gamer by both the big budget studios and those without big budgets too. Reminds me of better times of where i had choice. When this hobby still belonged to me.

>Intravenous 3 will be a 3d game.
why do you lie?
>>
>>733770846
What I personally like is how the alert state/detection in this game is actually "organic" and when an enemy detects you but loses sight of you he will start running around the level and spreading the "news" that there is a intruder, instead of how many games do it where the second one guy gets a good look at you suddenly everyone in the area is aware of your presence
>>733772264
Probably not, but he showed that he's working on new mechanics including enemies being able to vault and throw flares or grenades, or a more dynamic lighting system together with lighting storms being able to briefly illuminate you and reveal your position
