Suddenly got possessed by the urge to play the old 2D Zelda games I haven't played before. Already finished Link to the Past and Links Awakening DX which were both pretty good. Next up is the Oracles games, but I'm not sure which to star with. Which is better to play first Seasons or Ages? and how do these games compare to Link's Awakening DX since they're on the same console? I liked the world of and its inhabitants of Link's Awakening so I hope these games can keep that up.
>>733770513Seasonsdon't bother with Ages, it's shit
I haven't played them since I was a kid but I think ages was better They're both better than dx
Borrowed ages from a friend a while backDid not like it because minish cap was already out
>>733770680The animal companions were all great
>>733770513>Which is better to play first Seasons or Ages?I prefer to go Ages -> Seasons, but it doesn't really matter because you're supposed to do it both ways to get the full experience
>>733770513both are good, it doesnt matter
>>733770680I remember I was shit with the flying bear
Seasons is more of a combat gauntlet thing like early Zelda and the seasons gimmick is pure soul. Ages is probably the most puzzle and fetch quest intensive game in the series - time shifting isn't as colorful, but this is the Zelda that might make you actually think the most. They complete each other, and though many of Awakening's QoL complaints remain they're a great set of games if you can look past that. I would start with the Season to Ages route.

>>733770680I hope somebody doxxes the retards making these weird ass Zelda bots
>>733770513Ages then Seasons.Ages is looked down because "puzzles" are supposedly "hard" but it's just the opposite. Also lots of neat well implemented time traveling gimmicks and lore helps to make the game just better than Seasons overall
>>733770513Ages -> Seasons makes more sense, especially after LA, since there's more of a combat focus in Seasons and you get Roc's Cape which will make Ages feel slow by comparison (while the larger rooms and such should make Ages still feel like a step up on LA in most regards), also I just thought the narrative was better that way around.
>>733770513The Oracle games I'd say have about the same level of charm as LA, there's a lot more to them too.I'd reccommend starting with Seasons if only because the mechanic in Ages is a little more clunky to use, but you absolutely should play both and link the games for the true ending.
>>733770513doesn't matter since you'll play both.
>mixed responses in the threadPlay Seasons first if you want to hit things more. Play Ages first if you want to solve puzzles more. At the end of the day, play both as they're similar enough overall.
