Which one is you?
I'll clear it if I like the game and drop it if I dont like the game.
>Which one is you?saar...
>>733775406I take after Genm, because I'm a total shitter.
>>733775406That's such a weird catch phrase for a confident antagonist.
>>733775630Nah, that's more akin to nigger speak. Nigs put "is" in place of "are" a lot of the time. "Who you is?""What is you doin'?"Shit like that. You dumb nigger.
>>733775406beating anything on the first try is a huge buzzkill for me. I'd much rather struggle
Uncs still think they got continues in games
>>733775676Yeah you'd think that they would have had it the other way around. It's ok to fail and mess up so long as you keep on trying is the exact kind of message these shows try to teach kids so it's funny for the villain to be spouting lines like that.
>>733775740I hope you're not implying you're the bottom guy because the guy who clears it with no continues is most likely to struggle way more.
>>733775752Dont know if they actually explain the distinction in the show or who the villain is (I have no idea what this is, kamen rider?) but typically using a continue means you didn't have the endurance/skill to do the whole thing in one go, so you took the easy way out, you could easily beat an arcade game in one try if you just feed credits over and over obviously. If you manage to beat a game on no continues, typically that means youve done a lot of hard work to get up to this point and have many many failed runs behind you. Maybe japanese kids give more of a shit about 1ccs, I dunno
>almost 10 years since Ex-Aid aired
Which Kamen Rider should I watch now? I’ve seen Ryuki, W, and OOO, and I dropped Fourze (I forgot about it but it was pretty fun)
>>733775676>>733775752>>733776089They really didn't put that much thought into it because kid's show and all that. The bottom is the bad guy and supposed to be the "opposite" of the good guy, so his catchphrase is inverted. But personality wise, it doesn't really fit. Top is supposed to be a genius gamer so saying he can clear a game without any continues is supposed to be him showing off and being confident in his skills. Bottom is supposed to be a ruthless bad guy who doesn't play games for fun, so I guess you can interpret it as him saying that the only thing that matters in the end is if you win.
>>733776382I think it's supposed to be in coin op arcade terms. Since he's rich, he can just buy his way into victory.
>>733776269>Ryuki, W, and OOOYou're done, really.
If I don't need continues the game's either piss easy or I've learned from enough failures to not need them.
>>733776269>dropped FourzeWhat the fuck
Bottom because hes the whole reason I kept watching that show.
>>733776269AgitoDen-ODriveGaimThe Amazon reboot if you want something short and edgyGavvZero-OneBladeThere's so many good options, Fourze is also worth finishing imo
>>733776605NTA but I did too. Just wasn't very interesting after W and OOO.
>>733776269Fourze is good. You should finish it.I really liked Kuuga, Kabuto, and Faiz, though people have really mixed feelings on Faiz.Gaim is really good, and a lot of people like Drive though I couldn't really get into it for some reason.
>>733775676Not really, if you remember or watched, this was after Gemn had Dangerous Zombie, the form where he'd just comeback even after dying countlessly, and this was also when he came back from the dead like a literal third time via a backup replicated copy of himself. Him doing all that is basically him using continues.
>>733776703>Just wasn't very interesting after W and OOO.That's the eternal conversation when it comes to OOO and Fourze, the big earthquake happened in Japan during OOO so Fourze overcompensated with its positive tone. I personally really like Gentaro and the contrast between him and Ryusei and their thoughts on friendship.>>733776680 (You)>>733776269Oh and how could I forget to mention Build (I was reminded because I love Sento and Banjo's dynamic and was reminded of it when I was talking about Gentaro)
>>733776269Faiz is the only correct answer.
Sentai rangers peaked at Akiba ranger>14 years agoFuck, I'm killing myself now
>>733776496Come on anon... Don't be like that>>733776605What’s even funnier is that I dropped it twice. For some reason, I always had other things to do or watch when I was watching Fourze, and I ended up forgetting about it. Which is weird, because I loved the main cast and I love the MC. He’s probably one of my favorite MC in any Japanese media>>733776680>AgitoFrom what I’ve heard, it’s not really that great. >BladeI really want to try Blade. After watching Ryuki and seeing some webms from it, it looks like a kino season>Fourze is also worth finishing imoIt is! But I just don’t feel like rewatching the first half for the third time right now…>>733776729>though people have really mixed feelings on FaizWhy? The Rider's suit looks awesome tho!>gaimI don’t know about this one. I don’t really find its gimmick interesting.>>733776703I mean, its tone is definitely more oriented toward being a fun show for kids rather than a melodrama for teens, but it’s still awesome!>>733777104>he big earthquake happened in Japan during OOO so Fourze overcompensated with its positive toneYeah, you can really tell. It’s basically the same shift as with Jetman and Zyuranger>buildIsn’t it considered the best Kamen Rider of its era?>>733777165Why?>>733777296I still don’t feel ready to watch this kino show… I wish there was a list of required seasons to understand every reference
>>733777628Faiz goes really hard on the melodrama and the main character is kind of broody, so it feels like a teen soap at times. People complain about a lot of the drama being due to misunderstandings and the cast not really communicating with each other, but that's kind of the point. Also one of the characters who is a huge asshole is intentionally running interference through most of the show, so the misunderstandings are understandable to the viewer. But yes, Faiz has great suits and good action. It's one of my favorite series.>GaimI didn't think I would vibe with the aesthetic and gimmick either, but it has a pretty good story and characters with some of the more fun supporting Riders in the series.
Real question, what vidya character could defeat him?
>>733778052Leave him to me
>>733776269my absolute favorites are Kuuga and Agito, so I'd say those (watch kuuga first though because Agito is kind of but not really a sequel to kuuga)if you liked Ryuki, Faiz is also nice with more or less the same kind of style
>>733777951it also features the greatest schizo man ever put on screen
>>733776269Black.
>>733779125>schizoFrom my point of view it's Mari that's the schizo.
>>733775406I activate god mode.
I started Kuuga a while ago as my 5th Rider series and I really like it and especially Yusuke as a protagonist but I think the "monster every two weeks" formula is really killing it for me/making it a slow watch for me
>>733775406it me
>>733776382Uh huh...despite the videogame theming of the suits and powers, the show is actually about doctors fighting diseases, the main heroes all are doctors. When exaid (the magenta dude) says that catchphrase, it actually means 'i will save the ONE life you have'.in Genm(the black dude, actually a demented game programmer who created the powers all the other riders use)'s case, his catchphrase means 'fuck this, im essentially immortal, so i will just beat you up, i dont care if i 'die' or the innocent dies a couple times'.
>>733777951It is interesting how the weirder rider concept ideas can lead to the craziest stories.>Gaim: a samurai themed rider powered by fruits-its actually a modern day representation of the feudal wars, and the story of a man sacrificing his humanity to the primordial forbidden fruit to save the ones he loves.>Exaid: video game themed warriors.-its actually about doctors battling a terrible disease, and about the real importance of life and death.>Gavv: A half-alien dude powered by sweets and snacks.-its about loss, family connections and finding your place in the world, while battling your former oppresive family and their plans of turning earth's people into literal candy/drugs.
>>733782703Yeah, listen to this guy. I haven’t watched EX-Aid in years so I forgot a lot of shit and mostly pulled that out of my ass. That makes more sense than whatever I was saying.
I don't like post resurrection meme Dan.
>>733776269Toujima Tanzaburou wa Kamen Rider ni Naritai
>>733783598He's very wacky yes but I think he's fine enough in Ex-Aid. The real problem is the slew of over the top villains that feature in subsequent shows that are clearly trying to ape his character and popularity. He had the best cameo in Zi-O, watching the main cast trying not to corpse was hilariousKamen Rider is no stranger to ridiculous, believability-straining heel turns.
hell i bite wich Kamen Rider should i start watching
>>733776703>interesting after WlmaoW is the opposite of interesting
>>733783824Gaim. The fruit theme is heartful.
>>733783824>W>the newest one>the one with the coolest looking primary Rider
>>733783824W - the story of two private detectives fighting a criminal syndicate that distributes a drug which gives people superpowers.
>>733783824the original has /ourguy/
>>733783983Gaim turns into too much of a soap opera.
>>733784021>>733784034w it is thanks
>>733784216Not really, there is some family drama and the like but it isn't like W or Gavv where it is the central theme of the show.Gaim is all about a clash of ideals.>>733784271Temper your expectations with W. It is the most popular overall for most people, but when I watched it years ago I thought it was just okay. If you end up not liking it watch Build or Gaim, which I recommend you watch instead.
>>733783824Ryuki or W
>>733775406I will not clear at all, fuck this game
>>733775406Top one is mental illness.Bottom one is basic Humanity.
>>733776269START YOUR ENGINE!
>>733783824Start with Kuuga
>>733783824Everyone likes Build and I think Zeztz is pretty cool if you want to watch one that's currently airing
>>733775406I don't think i have it in me to be exaid.
I didn't realize Gavan Infinity was out how is it?
>>733788651pretty cool so far, my only issue is that I see no reason why it's Gavan and not Sentai. It really feels like Sentai with the Gavan name and designs but we're still only two episodes in so maybe this will change
I've just started watching Rider ~6 months ago and I think this is how i'm feeling on the seasons i've currently watched.W and Kuuga are subject to change since I'm only about ~20 episodes in both. Zeztz would be in C
>>733789737I loved geats but in a 'man there's a lot of cool random shit happening on screen' kinda way, I was not invested in the story or the characters whatsoever though
>>733789737>made me cryReally?
>>733776269Kuuga and then AgitoPeak 00s kino
>>733775406Depends on the context.Which one are you asks which one do you feel like you identify withWhich one is asks which one most resembles you Difference in the subject of the sentence
>>733783824Kuuga is a great place to start. It's a sort of soft reboot anyway, since it was the first show they aired after a good while off tv. They reworked a lot of the formula and it would set the basic template for all the following shows. It can come off a bit dry, since it's pretty showa-esque in some aspects, and it adheres greatly to a MotW format. But there's a really strong plot and themes in there. And the choreographies are some of the best in the franchise (fights and stunts with bikes, my beloved). And is pretty metal and violent which is something would eventually be lost with the years because modern laws are cucked.I'll admit i didn't appreciate it at first, but the more shows i saw, the more i understood the small things that Kuuga did better. Because despite all the darkness, sometimes you just got to give a thumbs up, smile and do your best https://youtu.be/6vYs0zF2DLg?si=XcE2mtRSMOtWCJvO
>>733790406same here. everything about Geats is cool, but the story and characters really don't align from me. I went from watching Kabuto to Gavv to Ryuki and it felt like I was on a lucky streak with the stories getting better and better in the shows I chose but Geats just completely fell flat for me.>>733791185I'm not great at putting my thoughts on media into words but something about Ryuki's cast just completely hit the mark for my tastes. I typically hate those "but now everything is okay" type of endings but I felt like it really made sense for Ryuki. My tears mainly just came from Shinji dying. He has a naive sense of heroism that I really enjoyed. Fate/Stay Night is my favorite story of all time and it really felt like Shinji had great parallels with Shirou Emiya
>>733791608safety laws really fucked up how much you can do in Toku in latet years it sucks
>>733775406I'm Drive but when he's not in gear...
>>733776269BuildBE THE ONE
bumpI don't watch Toku shows too often so I'll bookmark this thread for recommendations
