I guess part of me wants to get back into it, but after four expansions of trash...well I guess I need to face facts. Legion was the last expansion I really enjoyed and played the hell out of. I understand sunk-cost fallacy as well, which a lot of people in WoW are a victim of. You put so much time and money into it that you almost force yourself to try and play it/enjoy it. That $90 would probably be better spent on bills or even buying an actual video game I might want to play.

If you want to play the Classic quests you'd need to play Classic, either the vanilla Classic, TBC or WotLK. However, it should be noted that the game won't really guide you well to the stories, and you will out level any old ones very quickly which will make the combat trivial (if that matters to you at all). TWW is still very playable now, and they made some kind of condensed version for new and returning players that brings you through all of the high points of the story. I haven't played that experience so I can't vouch for it, but the story of TWW is nothing to write home about, it was 100% a filler arc. I still liked the expansion though, Delves are great for solo players like me and there were a lot of systemic changes that have been really nice. That looks to continue in Midnight.
