What makes it special?
nothing
>>733777730don't know, i never played iti don't know why i even opened this thread
The looney troon fans who shilled it hard on /v/ and then suicided, leading to the game's death due to the fanbase disappearing.

Kgook taste in anything>videogames: league and kmmos>music: kpoop>women: plasticit didn't have to be special
Great weapon combination system, actually a third person rollslop title that manages to tell a complete and coherent story from start to finish, great soundtrack and interesting characters, lots to see and do with plenty of secrets. It was just a very nice surprise at the time it released. Nothing revolutionary or shocking, but still a great game you could easily recommend to anyone who has enjoyed third person Action RPGs before like the Souls series.
it's the least shit soulsclone
>>733777730beginning felt a bit like Bloodborne
>>733777730Japanese devs seriously looked at Pinocchio and thought LET'S MAKE A PINOCCHIO GAME THAT PLAYS LIKE DARK SOULS AND INSTEAD OF A LITTLE BOY PUPPET PINOCCHIO IS ACTUALLY A THUNDERTWINK POWER BOTTOM.And that is how Lies of Peen happened.
>>733777949cap
>>733777730I don't know what you mean by special. It being based on a fairytale is unique among soulslikes and it does it well. The atmosphere is great, the visuals, the music, the character. Aside from Stellar Blade (which I wouldn't call a soulslike) it's the only souls game where you can play as someone who is actually aesthetically pleasing to look at.What makes dark souls 3 "special", what makes elden ring special?
>>733777972>Japanese devs
>>733777730What >>733777897 said. Also the level design is interesting with the 1800s World Fair aesthetic, something you rarely see.It also runs really well.Just a well made coherent game throughout.
>>733777730I heard that the dev also made some gooner game... True?
>>733777730The wishing cube is just such a well thought out mechanic, it makes it all worth it.
What's special about it is how unremarkable it is.Souls clone, but pinnochio made by devs with no industry experience.>>733778565I just looked it up and everyone is just ruthlessly shitting on this mechanic LMFAO
The blade and handle system and uuuuuuhhh...
>>733777730I played this after Elden Ring, the linear levels felt pretty damn refreshing
>>733778006>Stellar Blade (which I wouldn't call a soulslike)Eh, it's really close to Sekiro honestly. If Sekiro gets to be Soulslike, Stellar Blade isn't much of a stretch from there. You can say you have to draw the line somewhere, but I don't know about drawing it between these two.
>>733777730I've seen this guy taking dick
>mandatory parrying It's like you don't have to fucking move at all when it comes to the bossfights.
>>733777730The djmax ost remixes. Apart from that, nothing
>>733777730great story and questsunique weapon two-part systeminsanely good performance and optimization in the age of games that look like dogshit and play like dogshit

>>733777752FPBPBut I guess you could point out to delusional fans like >>733777792 because the spam is the most memorable part of that shitty game.
>>733777752This. The most "look, we can do Souls to!" Game of all time. Oh yah and a little sekiro with the arm upgrades that don’t do shit except the busted ass shield
It's a clone that feels like it was made by the people it's cloning, with enough new features to keep things fresh.I liked the weapon system, combat and the hitboxes feel tight.Voice acting is a big stepdown, though.
>>733777730Both it and Stellar Blade sent /v/ into an absolute orgy of shrieking seething fury solely because they were made in Korea. Either /v/ is full of non-Korean Asians or Israel and India are extremely bored/have a strange vendetta against Korea.
>>733777752fpbp, the game is great until the puppet king, from them on its just becoems annoying and dull to look at.

Blasphemous is like the only souls like with a good artstyle.
>>733777730The main character look like a faggot.
>>733792597It's twinkbait for fags.

>>733792597>>733792772This, where is the ugly bastard who represents me? I am feeling attacked by the attractive young man.
>>733792984I'm neither a faggot or a woman, I don't want to play as an effeminate boy.I want cool characters. We could have had a cool wooden puppet dude, but instead we got this retarded gay shit character.
It's between this and Wuchang...desu as best souls like.
>>733793637https://www.nexusmods.com/liesofp/mods/362Okay woody.
>>733793637We do have a cool wooden puppet dude.
>>733794073Why did they kept this gay hair? Also the nose is too small.>>733794082No we don't.
>>733777730You play a twink. I guess that's it
>>733777730A genuinely good, emotional story with some neat twists. Good sources of inspiration, from Pinocchio to Pluto.Meaty combat with fantastic animations and good sound design. Possibly the best movesets among any classical soulslike (so without counting things like Nioh). Boss weapon design in particular blows Fromsoft the fuck out.Generally the game feels a lot like the original RE4. A carefully balanced and fun linear action ride.
It stars a hot guy. Thats why I want to play it.
>>733777730It's the Bloodborne sequel that Fromsoftware will never give me. Also switching out different arms and weapon handles was neat.
>>733780248Same. I loved Elden Ring until I got burnt out on mopping up the last few areas and beating the same few dungeons and mini-bosses over and over. Lies of P felt like a palette cleanser afterwards where you remember that linear structure can be good too.
gog when
Special is not the word to describe this game.More like bread and butter.Solid Dark Souls clone.
>>733795863The problem with ER and I guess now CV2 and Nioh 3, is that there is nothing of value to be found in the open world that makes you want to explore it.In ER's case, this is only after playing through it once, as you come to terms with the fact 99% of the mini dungeon treasure is just spirit ashes and shitty talismans, CV2 has very little worthwhile stuff in those and Nioh straight up has no loot beyond minor stat/capacity increasesThere is just nothing to get excited about in those open worlds
>>733796659Nioh 3's world gives you absolutely insane skills and passives literally every 10 minutesYou find a passive that changes virtually the entire combat system just lying in a random Heian ditch.
>>733796898Hardly>inflict damage down on deflect>purge yokai realms with mistSure its nice, but hardly something to get excited overIdk man, it just doesnt have the same appeal as finding a sword that shoots black holes at people or somethingBesides, the reason it works for ER exactly once is because once you know where the cool stuff is and what just has spirit ashes, 90% of all dungeons become obsolete and not worth doingturns the world into a checklist at best
>>733784458This has some impressive levels of dishonesty.
>>733797327Among other skills, there are effects that give you animation cancels, ability to move during otherwise static animations, insane effects like "regenerate 30% ki if you style shift at 0 ki", shit that modifies your dodge distance, evasion iframes, deflect frames, gives you new reposition tools like ability to move after deflect, and there's a fuckload of them. Not to mention that a shitload of active skills are gated behind exploration too, and these skills are not locked to a single weapon art slot either, you integrate them into a larger kit of your weapon.
Another thing lies of P does is charactize the bosses a bit>they talk to you>in some cases they antagonize you before you fight themMeanwhile in 90% of other souls titles you just fight some guy, maybe even afterwards learn who that guy was, but little more than that
>>733777997Name a better one so I can play it.
>>733796659I disagree. At least at first, Elden Ring was full to the brim with interesting things to stumble upon. Distinct environments, wandering NPCs, walking temples, an elevator that leads to the center of Earth, a treasure chest that teleports you to the other side of the planet, etc. The issue is that if you're a completionist then you'll start seeing some initially interesting things and unique side-bosses just get recycled, and a lot of throwaway dungeons where you don't know if the final treasure is even worth getting until you've already sunk in the time necessary to earn it.
tldr on this thread please
>>733798592Puppet game good
>>733798259Yeah, thats more or less what I saidER is interesting the first time, but once you know a dungeon has nothing of value, you're never going back thereAnd thats the case for 90% of the games dungeonsAnd after the 15th catacomb having spirit ashes in it, you probably lose that little bit of hope of finding something cool at the end
Can someone explain the point of the shotgun please? Does it parry like BB guns?
Something that Lies of P does that no other soulslike does is it keeps the new enemies coming until the end.In ER after you get to Altus you maybe have 40% of the game left but only 10% of the new enemy types.
>>733799652Yeah, the enemy variety is insane. Some of them are variants of course, but with radically diferent behaviour. They go absolutely bat shit in DLC in that regard too.
>>733799025Fuckton of stagger damageGood damage if you time it rightThink it also counts as a charged attack so it can instantly trigger the stance break
>>733777730The soul, characters and music.
