Piracy doesn't affect devs whatsoever.Say you're screening a movie on an open theater. 10 people pay for a ticket, 10 people hang watch from the outside, since there are no walls. You sold 10 tickets.You then build walls that prevent people from watching from outside. You sell 10 tickets still. People who have no money to spend or the intention to can't be counted as 'lost sales' because there was never a sale to be made in the first place.
