I can't put my finger on what it is. Is is the incredibly high volume of build variety? Is it the charming cast of Characters, each fighting for their own nobility? Is it the amazing orchestra edits of past classic music pieces during the flashback maps? Hell, is it just the moment-to-moment gameplay that we've all come to know and love, albeit just tighter than before?Three houses didn't have its hooks in me at all This? My favorite game on the switch, easily. And one of my top 10 games of all-time. Note: I've only had experience with the series (outside of smash) via Shadow Dragon on the DS. I made it a point (after that game made me fall in love) to play all the marth games. Does awakening count? I tried it, but ended up picking up engage after not liking chrom or Lucina that much.
>>733793698It's legitmately well made from beginning to end by devs who wanted to make something fun. Simple as.

>MarthMarth has two adventures and three remakes of those adventures:Shadow Dragon NES -> Mystery of the Emblem book 1 -> Shadow Dragon DSMystery of the Emblem book 2 -> New Mystery of the Emblem DSThe second DS game "New Mystery of the Emblem" is very good and if you're already familiar with the mechanics of Shadow Dragon DS. Personally I really like the harder difficulty modes available in this version. However I'd say the snes versions are also worth playing. There are some things the DS games did worse, New Mystery DS adds a bunch of content that wasn't in the original, and the snes version is really the core of the series so it's nice to see how it evolved from there. It's a little clunky in comparison but still much improved over the nes games.Obviously these games haven't been officially released in english but there are fan translations for everything.
